Didn't that training center used to be Don's?
Jimmy John's...mmmmmmmmmm. I used to go when it was on 135, haven't been to yours......yet.

Yes, it was Don's guns back in the day. Now it's a police training center. The police officers have been very friendly each time they come over to get a sandwich. They usually seem to be in a good mood as well. They must be having fun during the training. Maybe it's a nice change from their regular duties. It's also interesting to see the police cars from all over the state parked there.

Sorry, this is supposed to be about Applebees. :D

The man’s jean shorts sagged to his mid-thigh

This is a good enough reason to kick him out. PULL YO PANTS UP!!!

Anyway, any merchant has the right to kick you out and after calling the police and having such a ruckus, I wouldn't have stayed in that place anyway.

I never knew that Jimmy John's is an INGO approved restaurant! :D If I'm ever in the mall area and need a quick bite, I ALWAYS stop there and grab a sandwich. Like someone already mentioned, I miss the one on 135.

Looks to me that Applebees (at least in Fort Wayne) is not gun friendly. Doesn't even have to be real to get kicked out.

    Customer ‘armed’ with belt buckle

Fort Wayne police, guns drawn, confronted an Applebee’s patron Thursday after a manager mistook his pistol-shaped belt buckle for the real thing.

The man’s jean shorts sagged to his mid-thigh and his T-shirt partly covered the life-size gold-plated diamond-studded belt buckle replica of a Colt .45 and even made the officer do a double take, according to a police report.

When the officer told the man that wearing such a realistic-looking belt buckle was likely to cause a stir, the man replied that he would gladly wave at the officer the next time a concerned citizen called the police, according to the report.

The manager then asked police to escort the man out of the restaurant at 4510 N. Clinton St. but was sure to say he was welcome to come back – so long as he was not wearing any guns, fake or otherwise, according to the report.

Camera footage nets tips_ arrest | The Journal Gazette, Fort Wayne, Ind. (scroll down to third story)

I guess that means I'm not welcome to spend my money there. :xmad:
I'm withholding judgment on Applebee's in this case. Picture this guy-the waist of his baggy jean shorts down below his crotch, oversized t-shirt that partly covers his belt buckle, full-size Liberace/Mr. T 1911 belt buckle...Any bets on whether he had a gold grill that said "KILLA" on it and a gold chain with a Mercedes hood ornament on it???
I'd bet dollars to donuts there's more to this story than the paper printed.

Seriously, would any of you (cowboy or not, wearer of oversized belt-buckle or not) be caught dead looking like this?

I wonder if they'd eject me if I walked in, dressed as I always dress, in nice jeans or khakis and a polo shirt or button down shirt, OCing an XD or a revolver, with my wife and 3 kids with me. I'd make another bet, dollars to donuts, that the cops wouldn't come.

And although I dont agree with the situation I too believe there is something more to this story. And the discription of the guy says it all imo

He probably looked like a gang banger. (not that that makes it okay) But if he pulled up his pants and didnt look like trouble he probably wouldnt have the trouble he did.
Either way, I too do not eat Applebees...the food is crap!

I spoke with Scott Cortner, V.P. of Human Resources for Applesauce, Inc. AI owns all the Applebees in this region of the state, and Mr. Cortner was familiar with the store when I gave him the address quoted in the story.

Mr. Cortner told me that their corporate policy is to obey all state and local laws when it comes to customers with firearms in their dining room. As long as a person is licensed in whatever capacity (LEO, civilian with a valid LTCH), then that person is allowed to OC or CC in accordance with state law. Unless a customer is causing a disturbance that warrants the police to be called then the management will not question that person about carrying a firearm. If there IS a question about handling a firearm in an unsafe manner or something similar then the police would be called to deal with the situation.

He said it to me short and sweet - as long as a customer acts in a safe manner (no unholstered firearms) then they are welcome at Applebees during all business hours.

If you would like to talk to Mr. Cortner his telephone number is 859-331-3900.

:+1: In Marine Corps Boot Camp they issued us these remarkable devices called BELTS, thus I have never had to walk around with my pants around me knees like a homosexual :gheyhi: prison-bitch :gaychase: looking for a knew boyfriend :moon: , which I have read is the origin of this :dumbass: "fashion trend".

Looking on the bright side though, the whole sagging pants thing is just a different version of

Just one more reason to pass on Applebee's.
People keep telling us how great they are and we've tried a few in different areas and ALWAYS had a bad experience.
Bad service, bad food, bad wait-staff, cashiers who can't count money, you name it.
The last straw was the most recent one we went to... the hostess walked us to the table to seat us and it was still dirty. I don't mean "a smear here or there" (which is yucky in itself!), I mean a jumble of dishes and food scraps from the previous occupant and BBQ sauce all over the booth seat.
We said, "uh..don't you need to have the table bussed first?" and she said, "oh, they'll be along in a few minutes".

We have had the same experiences with Applebee's we don't eat there anyway.

I OC 50% of the time and CC 50% of the time. When I CC I have been tucking directly in my pants without any sort of holster (my pants are around my waist) I just find it more comfortable as to where my gun rides and I dont have the added thickness of a holster. Would you consider this unholsterred?

I would, yes. But I am not a representative of Applebees restaurant so my opinion doesn't matter in regard to your question.
