I was in the Applebee's in Carmel(ish) on US-31 in front of the big strip mall.

I saw two chubby guys and one exceptionally handsome fat guy at the same table openly carrying pistols in holsters. I saw a one other chubby guy and a freakishly tall guy who were not carrying any firearms that I could see.

There were no issues, except the good looking fat guy drank about a gallon of diet Mountain Dew and got a little excited.

I am not a big proponent of OC, as some of you may know. However, I thought I would check this situation out. Last Sunday, after my son's soccer game we stopped in there for a coke and to split a sandwhich. I chose the Applebees in question. It was a Sunday around 2pm. I wore a cover garment but took it off as we approached our table. My son and I sat down to wait and see what transpired. The hostess saw my G19 but said nothing. After she seated us she made a be line to, who I would assume is the manager, a woman, standaing by the waitress station at the bar. She thumbed her hand at our table while talking to the manager. The mgr looked at me at shrugged toward the hostess as if to say, so what?. :dunno: That was it. We were not asked to leave or anything of the sort. She might have assumed I was a cop but who knows.

With all that said, I can't stand Applebees food and service anyway.

Careful, the OC might grow on you once you see nothing bad happens when you do it.

I never have that problem. I work right next to Applebees here in Merrillville, and of course, I carry, and no problems have come my way...

And this is Indiana, not commiefornia or nongunsupporterillinois, so how can Ft. Wayne LEOs do that to the guy who is carrying? Unless he didn't have a license, or he was being a douche, I don't see how they would go through a possible hostile situation and "escort" him out.

If I am a paying customer, and you didn't find out I was carrying until I paid my bill, what then?

I don't think it was because he was had a replica belt buckle on that they asked him to leave, I think that it turned into a disturbance that they did that. And if the establishment asks a customer to leave then they have to comply or risk the trespassing charge.

I didn't go back and check, but this is the one where they wanted the customer to pay for his meal as they were escorting him out, right? If it is, THAT is uncalled for.

Looks to me that Applebees (at least in Fort Wayne) is not gun friendly. Doesn't even have to be real to get kicked out.

    Customer ‘armed’ with belt buckle

Fort Wayne police, guns drawn, confronted an Applebee’s patron Thursday after a manager mistook his pistol-shaped belt buckle for the real thing.

The man’s jean shorts sagged to his mid-thigh and his T-shirt partly covered the life-size gold-plated diamond-studded belt buckle replica of a Colt .45 and even made the officer do a double take, according to a police report.

When the officer told the man that wearing such a realistic-looking belt buckle was likely to cause a stir, the man replied that he would gladly wave at the officer the next time a concerned citizen called the police, according to the report.

The manager then asked police to escort the man out of the restaurant at 4510 N. Clinton St. but was sure to say he was welcome to come back – so long as he was not wearing any guns, fake or otherwise, according to the report.

I guess that means I'm not welcome to spend my money there. :xmad:

While I can agree that food at Applebee's is not always the best, I have to say the burger I got on Sunday was excellent. In fact, it's one of the best burgers I've had in a while, and the best food I've had at Applebee's in years. It was the "brewster burger," which I ordered after slow1911s ordered his. Excellent burger.

The last time I ate there I ordered a burger. I couldn't even eat more than half because it tasted so bad. I don't usually get burgers there anyway. I go for the buffalo wings. hhmmmm.

The last time my family went there, as a whole, we all came down with explosive diarrea (yes, all four of us). I called the health department. The next weekend in the paper we saw that they got dinged on fiVe major violations! That was the Applebees at Coventry in Fort Wayne.
