Wish the skills were skyrim-like where the more you practiced, the more proficient you become.

I don't like crafting, prefer to just collect junk and barter it with merchants as done in prior games.

Starting to run into a lot of repetition with the settlement sidequests. I've cleared the same location multiple times.

Settlements are a bit of a PITA, but man the new power armor system is amazing.

Sanctuary is now in my playthrough, as my brother described, a "power armor trailer park". I may have a dozen or so frames standing around waiting for me to find the parts to finish them out, not unlike multiple automobiles sitting on blocks I suppose.

I hate the new park/leveling system. I always maxed lockpick and science first so I could lockpick/hack to get all the goodies, but now I've got to wait until I level to be able to get in the higher level safes and computers.

I like the weapon modding, but I feel the base weapon selection to be highly lacking compared to previous titles in the series. I really liked the New Vegas grenade rifle (M79).

I agree, except for the crafting/modding system, I love it. I don't understand why they didn't use the skyrim leveling system.

Also, those damn minuteman missions are driving me nuts. I think Connie Abernathy has been kidnapped 4 times already! :n00b: There are times I'd go to clear out an area, and there was nobody there, because I had killed them all a couple (game) days ago.

Also, I cannot stress enough the lack of base weapons! They really should've borrowed weapons from 3 and NV.

Haven't done much with the main quest, maybe halfway into it.

Sebastian and Mary are but a distant afterthought. Or was it Shane? Yeah, Shane... that's probably it.

Also, another Fallout 4 vs Real-Life Boston landmarks comparison:

I have been a Fallout Fan for a long time, and have several hundred hours logged into previous generations of the game. I haven't purchased a new console yet, but this game is making it hard to not go out and just buy one :spend: (yeah, I know PC is where its at, but I'm a console gamer and always will be ). I get what you guys are saying about the perk system, I loved being able to level up sneak and walk around like a ghost pickpocketing the crap out of everybody. Hopefully I can still find enjoyment in the game; I'm really excited about it, and I really need to get a new system so I can play it.

This game was my deciding factor on getting a new console

Just figured out a solution to people wandering in and out of your home.

Clear and build on Spectacle Island! Finish the thingy that makes the mirelurks go away, then do NOT build a recruitment beacon.

You will have zero guests and the entire island is yours. The workshop allows you to clean up the nuclear waste cans along with everything on the island, so you can build pretty well without even bringing building materials in, although I have.

    Regards,

    Doug

I've got 6 days of game play in. Beat the game now roaming around with Preston doing the lame minuteman side quests. I've been using the Gauss rifle modded to around 408 damage and my irradiated combat rifle that does 98 +50 radiation the past 3 days of game play with Mccready's killshot perk. Anyone have a better non nuke or missle weapon?

Oh c'mon dude, 6 days? Immerse yourself in the game, and do the side quests as they come along. It's a much more satisfying experience IMO, and your character gets incredibly powerful.
