Nope, no flashlight that I could probably FIND anywhere in the house. I could use my led battery-operated candles that are in the windows.

I probably couldn't locate the ammo for the long guns quickly, either. Maybe I should poke around some today and figure out where the hubby stores everything. I would check all noises with a pistol, anyway, since I have more experience handling them and feel more comfortable with them.

Not wearing socks...but luckily I don't have stairs to worry about, either. Have fallen down stairs in slippers, though - got rid of those slippers immediately.

And not to worry - my hubby will verify that I have shoes EVERYWHERE around the house, so it wouldn't be a problem for me to slip on a pair on the way out any door.

Flashlight - Check, have a flashlight on top of my night stand, with a pistol attached to it. (this pistol gets put away in the morning so my daughter can't get ahold of it, and a I swap it for my daily carry)

Cellphone - Check, right next to my wallet and keys, next to the flashlight at night. Otherwise they are on my person in my pockets.

7) Where is your rifle? I don't own a defense-caliber rifle. My Marlin 60 is 15 ft. away in the closet, with a lock on it.

==> I live in a smallish apartment with one hallway leading from the bedroom to the living area. The front door is between these two areas. I keep my J-frame on me at all times when I am home. If someone were to kick in my door I would have to fight through them to get to my main HD guns (shotgun, and 1911). Those 5 shots should get me there.

I'll answer this again now that I'm back from Wisconsin and at home.

1) Where are you sitting right now? Computer desk in the corner of the living room.
2) Are you wearing pants with pockets and a belt? Yes. 5.11 pants actually, with an instructor belt, a Gerber Multi Tool & Comp-Tac MTAC attached.
3) Do you have shoes on an what kind? Yes, Those same North Face GoreTex Hiking Shoes
4) What gun is the closest to you? Glock19, in above mentioned MTAC
5) Where is your pistol? at 3:30 IWB with no cover garment over it.
6) Where is your shotgun? N/A
7) Where is your rifle? In the Master Bedroom at the top of the steps.
8) Where is your Flashlight? Surefire E2D in my front left pocket.
9) Anything else you'ld like to tell me? Sure I've got a KA-BAR TDI at ~ 7:00 on the belt, and a CRKT in my front right pocket as well. Plus a 4' long LART next to my desk (2x4 with a bat handle in one end... Sysadmins will get it. )


As a side note. I would much rather have my rifle at my desk with me. However I'm willing to compromise by not worrying about having to carry my 6 month old, and a rifle up the steps when I take her upstairs since the LAST thing I want to do is leave it on the first floor while I'm upstairs. Nothing like Arming your assailants with an AK-74.....
