House is back. Anyone have a breakdown of the votes for SB229 in the senate? Also what were some of the arguments used to oppose it? I will still be sending emails out to those who opposed it. Education never ends.

The roaming school zone will be dead as soon as it passes. Edited in below:

    "
SECTION 7. IC 35-47-9-2, AS AMENDED BY P.L.172-2013,
SECTION 13, AND AS AMENDED BY P.L.158-2013, SECTION
601, IS CORRECTED AND AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS
[EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2014]: Sec. 2. (a) Except as provided in
    subsection (b),
a person who knowingly or intentionally possesses a
    firearm:
    (1) in or on school property; or
[strike](2) in or on property that is being used by a school for a school function; or [/strike]
    [strike](3)[/strike] (2) on a school bus; commits a [strike]Class D[/strike] Level 6 felony.
    "
The line that used to be #2, "in or on property being used..." was the roaming school zone.

Now....to fix this little problem next time. :D

Unless someone took a screenshot, we'll have to wait for that to be posted. The video of the session should be available tomorrow or the day after at the latest.

IIRC, the 10 votes against 229 in the Senate were all Dems, except Wyss. I know I saw Rogers, Skinner, Lanane, Breaux, Broden, Wyss, Stoops, Randolph, and Tallian. Not sure about the other one.

    Blessings,
    Bill

I tried to pause my stream to cap it. It was RIGHT THERE, man! Stupid real life not having a rewind button.

After reading the bill, it looks to me like LTCH holders now are exempt from the section that prohibits possession on school buses and school property? That's a bonus for us, isn't it?

Was that supposed to be purple? Read it again. Pretty sure it doesn't say that.
