Beautiful custom grips, JG. Very unique and classy.

These were done by a friend's small shop - West Virginia Wood Arts

Mike and Garry are cool guys and, as Jet Girl pointed out, very patient when it comes to getting it right for the customer. I have a set from them. Two other buddies have sets from them. Shoot, I think they still have two of those three sets as demos on the website... (Look for the "Zombie Killer" and the Celtic Cross / Boondock Saints grips)

Did an Ingo search and came across this thread. Been thinking about trying out some thin grips on my American Classic II Government model.

I went ahead and ordered a set of Ultra Thin Ranger 1/2 checkered grips. The price seems reasonable as well. :rockwoot:

Almost forgot about this. Here's a pic with the new thin grips installed. I'm digg'n 'em. :yesway:

My Raasco's came in. I got the ones similar to KG1's. I'll put them on after my de-horn, new thumb safety and other mods.

Still trying to decide if I should get it Cerakoted and if so, what color...

What do you think of them after seeing them in person?
I don't think the photos do them justice.

I agree. As a woodworker, I can appreciate craftsmanship like this. They not only look great, but the checkering is sharp enough to really increase my grip even though they are only half checkered as opposed to my factory SA grips which are full checkered.

I'm curious to see how the pistol feels in my hand after installing them. :)

Time to go again... One pair of slims for full sized and one for compact with an ambi cut.
Looks like Monkey Grips website is down...dangit.
    Anybody got any new links?

So I'm thinking of a natural stained tung oil finished maple with light/dark contrast leaves carved inside a border. (A girl needs grips for her favorite season - Fall - you know). I've contacted WestVirginiaWoodArts again (GNRPowedR's friend)... He's working up a quote and estimated date for me. I'll still need one more pair and I'd really like to revisit MonkeyGrips, but their site has been down. Anybody else? Ideas?
