Been playing around with white/black photos probably my favorite of the bunch so far.

That's a sharp picture, thanks for posting! I plan on working my 1911 a lot more this year. :)

    Nice looking :yesway:

It shoots way better than it looks..
It's bushing is tight & it never malfunctions..
Needs the barrel bushing wrench to remove..
Was fit together in the mid/early 90s by a smith that's no longer with us.
I do need to look into some new recoil springs for it, Wolff sold dual springs for the Officers Models back then & since they only seem to sell heavier single springs for them now?? I've had this for 25 years now.. Got the Colt grips a few years ago, until it wore these Hogues, The front strap is smooth so I went with these, It helps with the draw & presentation.. I have a set of officers alumagrips but they feel cold..
I really need to look into a beavertail as the one in it fits wrong? Got one for a commander way back when, NOTE: how it fits..
Maybe a new set of sights too!!
Also my Wife made this chess board 35 years ago, Her Grandpa was a master wood worker & his skills trickled down to her.
I'm pretty handy myself & have the tools of over a dozen men.. Need to try an do something with these skills in my retirement..

Yeah, I hear you on the finger grooves. I kept the stock grips on my DW CCO, but added the front finger grooves for stability. I don't like the smooth, snakeskin pattern DW put on the front and back strap. The finger grooves make a world of difference.

Just picked this up from PSS this morning... the Ruger SR1911 9mm Officer's Model. Had to very slightly drift the rear sight, which took all of 5 minutes. Otherwise, not a mark on it. This will make a nice companion to the SR1911 Commander 9mm in the safe.

I grabbed a quick shot of the front, as it's a bushingless bull barrel with a full-length guide rod. Just as easy IMO to take down/re-assemble as a traditional bushing setup.

Thanks WTB. You get some continued credit for this. I still remember shooting your SR1911 at PointBlank when I had the V-Bob, and was conflicted because I couldn't believe how much I *really* liked your Ruger! I've only put this on the laser target at home, but so far I'm liking it every bit as much as the Commander 9mm version.

Thank you sir. I regret having sold that one. I'm going to start saving up to eventually get a DW Heritage or Specialist. Some day...

I need to stay out of this thread at least until I get all the current projects completed.

Well, I just need to stay off the internet till my projects get done. I'm trying to finish off my AR9 build but these new guns coming to market and people posting screaming deals isn't helping. I thought I'd grab the rest of my stuff for the AR9 and my rimfire scope next week but just bought another suppressor tonight that was a great deal.

I'm new to the site and just stumbled across this thread.
I've had this Hardballer since 1987. I bought it used off of a buddy that was getting out and needed cash to move for $150. He had a lot of after market gun smithing done to it. I know that these pistols have a checkered history but this has been 100% reliable for me and the sights are absolutely dead on. Contrary to the AMT "Hardballer" nickname this one has reliably eaten absolutely everything I have fed it. I've shot several, several, thousands of rounds through this in the past 30 years and have loved every minute of it.
