      Indy 1500 purchase.

      That is a beautiful Gun. I have bought several guns there and have always been pleased with the quality and the price of the gun. Unfortunately I have not been able to go to one recently, but hope to go again soon. Congrats again on a great find!

      What was your first handgun?

      I didn't get my first hand gun until I was 21. It was a glock model 22 in a .40 caliber. I still have it and it is one of my favorite guns. I hope to someday be able to pass it down.

      New or Used?

      I don't mind buying used at all. I would stay away from the big box stores like Gander because they have pretty high prices. If you go to a few online sites or do your homework on what places like Tims or point blank are selling their used guns for you could get a pretty good deal.

      Walther PPS or Springfield XDs

      I think Tims in westfield does. My roommate just bought an XDS from there and loves it. I would call them and see, they would be willing to work with you on price a little as well.

      There are obviously pros to each platform, and depending on what you want to do with the gun, one may be better than the other. The AR is going to be semi-auto, take more rounds, but possibly less accurate. If you are down on the ground, you have to use a smaller magazine, or a higher tripod...

      Beach Grove Firearms is a good FFL I have used. They communicate well and are decently cheap at $15 or $20 I think. I look for communication and amount of traffic they do as an FFL. If they are not used very often there has to be a reason...

      Interesting, and all good info to know. Thanks. And for the farm stuff I was thinking about a friend who's father has a ranch out west that is fun to go shoot at. So what is your opinion if I wanted to just do deer hunting or smaller game such as coyotes?
