I got my truck totaled just before the holidays. Some high school kid texting tried to shove a Caviler up my tail pipe. Both were a total loss but no injuries.
Wool for cold weather. Keeps most of its insulation properties even when wet. The best is a good layer system. A good wicking core layer with breathable insulating layers over that and a finale water proof layer. Has to breath to let moisture out. Moisture build up will make you cold. Good hat...
What he said. All of the Ruger Mark series 22s are nice pistols. Used ones can be found for a good price. I got a 22/45 stainless target model that looked new for $300.
Instead of Vaseline I carry triple antibiotic ointment packets. It burns just like Vaseline but can also be used for first aid. Use cotton gauze instead of cotton balls. Again doubles for first aid. So instead of carrying fire starters just add more to your FAK. Make as you need.
I would go with a medium Alice pack and frame. Tough as nails and can be found for a good price. Not the most comfortable but if it is a GHB you don't plan to do a lot of hiking with it any way.
Same thing I was thinking. Make sure they are safe before you let them at it. Once they prove they are safe and responsible see how they do with some larger calibers. I would never just say "Have at it" to a new shooter.
My first was a P94. Will feed any ammo you want and it is built like a tank. The only failure I have ever had was because a magazine was dirty and sticking causing a fail to feed.
Just spray them with carb cleaner. I have had that spray back just a little and it burns your skin and blinds you. If that doesn't stop them light it. Pistol would still be much easer and anything you spray could get you to.
I just got a Midway bag. Took it to the range Mon for the first time. Love it and had others asking where I got it. Lot of bag for a little price. I was thinking of getting a second one and have a pistol and a rifle bag.
Found 3 nice sets of shelving for $15 each. Now to organize some of the things I have sitting around in boxes. Got a little bit more ammo and food to rotate but I do that every time I go to the store.
