      Vacation non-carry

SC doesn't recognize non-resident permits, it appears.

Yet another gun store break in, this time in NWI

Just don't do transfers through those jerks.

Which 300 AAC Blackout for Deer

I've taken 3 deer with the Barnes TAC-TX (black tips). They have performed great every time and the deer always expire quickly and don't go very far, leaving massive blood trails. Couldn't recommend them more.

      Suppressor Questions...223/556 & .22LR

If they are in your will as the beneficiary of that item, it will transfer tax free to them without having to have a trust.

CMP Service Grade M1s available again...

The CMP wood fitment is good. Lockup of the trigger guard is tight! I greased the pins and still had to push REALLY hard to get it to close. I only messed with it a few minutes before throwing it in the safe, so I didn't pull the spring to check to see if the oprod moves freely in the stock. I...

Connecticut State Troopers Caught Plotting to Charge Open Carrier

I listed on my computer when I got home with the volume turned up. They definitely transcribed the audio properly.

Throw a trigger in this 700 or not ?

Adjustment to factory triggers can be hit or miss. They're not as precisely made as the aftermarket triggers, so you can't always get good results just by turning the adjustment screws. Also, with Remington, if you touch the trigger, other than the X mark pro trigger's weight screw and you have...

Best place to meet for FTF transfers?

There a quite a few people that want to fill out some sort of bill of sale. I don't and would rather not, though because I have a C&R license, I would need to retain buyer/seller info on eligible firearms. You can always say no if you don't want info given.

CMP Service Grade M1s available again...

As promised, here are some pics of my new rifle: It's serialed in the 1,867,*** range, which puts it's date of manufacturer to July '43. It has a '43 dated barrel, too.

I sent mine 2-3 days after they went back up for sale, so around the 25 or 26th of August.

      Question about CLEO notification

Send it in when you send your copy to the ATF. The idea of the CLEO notification is to give them an opportunity to present info that would make you ineligible if they had it. When it comes down to it, this is an unenforceable rule. They don't call the PD to see if you sent it, so I don't know...

Glock 19 vs sig 320 compact?

Is that like a step down from an "elephant gun?"

Throw a trigger in this 700 or not ?

ALWAYS go with the aftermarket trigger.

I got mine Friday. Nice looking rifle, with a reproduction stock. I'll post some pics later.

      Steel Case ammo thoughts

You sure about that? That's not a very common occurrence. It's much more likely that the ammo wasn't hot ENOUGH and the bolt never made it to the bolt stop. This is one of the first tests to diagnose a malfunctioning weapon.

      $3 HK G3 or PTR-91 Military Mags

Many gun owners are upset with them because during the post-Sandy Hook run on guns/ammo/mags, CTD jacked up their prices on magazines sky-high. Many viewed this as gouging gun owners when the supply was low, and they haven't forgotten it...

      Willow Slough Shooting Range Progress

I used to go to Willow Slough all the time. I enjoyed the partially self-governed nature of the range. I've visited Kingsbury once, and while it was a nice range, it was further away and I didn't like paying. That said, $4 is reasonable for the whole day on a public range. $7/hour is a frickin...
