I've become a huge fan of Right to Bare Arms also. It is on the left before you get to Ft. Branch. The selection isn't overwhelming and they will spend the time talking to you to figure out what fits you best.
I'm thinking there isn't any harm in practicing with it for the time being. It lacks a bipod but I'll just use a sandbag. It's received some trigger work already, so it's not a bad gun. Back to saving up funds for a new build.
I'm a fan of going the 10-22 route. They have something they can shoot now, will grow with them, and once they get full size there is a multitude of available parts to customize to their liking.
