So what does one do with a scope after abusing it like that?
If you are open to more torture testing, I have a more "real world" test I'd be curious about.
How about dropping it from shoulder height onto concrete. Suppose you were carrying your rifle and it slipped off your shoulder and...
I did the Florida permit because Florida isn't specific about what kind of training class you have. I took an NRA class 5 years ago and it counted, or military/veteran status also counts I believe. Utah required you to take their specific class or a class that met their requirements. Florida...
On used guns they split their purchase price and their asking price, you pay the difference. The hard part is you have to ask them for every gun you want a price on. I found a Ruger 10/22 that way once though. Their asking price was over $100 above their purchase price, so I paid the...
I'll probably get some flaming here, but I'll say it anyway. Get a Honda. I bought mine of Craigslist, an 8 hp, 28 inch, 2 stage electric start hydrostatic blower. My dad has one that is over 20 years old, 5 hp, 22 inch, 2 stage with the tracks and it has never had a problem. They start easy...
I bought one from Military Gun Supply a year ago. I was a little disappointed in the lack of communication from them. The gun was in good condition however. I ordered one with the original walnut stock with the knowledge that an original stock would be more beat-up than a replacement stock...
I love them too. I always enjoy the smell of the wood heating up after a few rounds. The look on people's faces when the clip pops out is pricesless too. More than once I've been told my gun just flew apart :-)
I've gone through the list, but didn't see either of those listed on the United Way donation site we have to go through for work. What's worse is I'm typically in charge of managing the drive at work. I hate supporting such a lousy excuse for a cause. Last year our company gave over $1...
Are those target stands and metal targets already there or were those yours that you took out to the range?
I just went to Bass and Bucks today but sure wish they had more reactive targets.
Does Hillside allow 50 BMG? It sounds like a really nice range. I've gone to Bass and bucks before and loved it, but Roanoke is probably 30-40 minutes closer and may be worth checking out.
For those that have time Bass and Bucks is a very friendly range. The people that work in the store...
I second the comments about Green Mountain barrels. Cheap, accurate, and a lot of options available to fit your style. You can sand the barrel channel out to make a .920 barrel fit on a standard stock.
I have one of the 700 VS models in 308, and it is my most accurate rifle. After some basic work, like adjusting the trigger, testing different torques on the stock, and so on, I can get 1/4 inch 100 yard groups with Federal Gold Medal Match or German DAG ammo (surplus!). Even out to 300 yards...
If you are anywhere near Indy, listen to the previous poster that recommended that you check out Distinctive Diamonds. I got my wife's rings there. The same engagement set that Shane Co wanted to rob...er, sell me for OVER $8,000, I got at Distinctive, with a BIGGER, HIGHER QUALITY diamond for...
I'd really recommend an attorney. If the cop was behind you, and there was any traffic near you, how can he be sure that the radar was locked only on you? Secondly, bikes are much harder to pick up on radar than a car. Radar returns are much greater from a larger vehicle, so it registers...
Seriously? You have to report vermin that you kill on your own property? What does the DNR do with that information?
I grew up on a creek in another state and used to take scrats, chucks, coons, and possums all the time. I sure miss living somewhere that had targets of opportunity come...
Gunbroker is definitely an overpriced way to buy a gun. The ONLY exception I have found is if you find someone in IN and do a fTf deal. I don't know what some of the GB sellers are smoking, but someone must pay their outrageous prices as I haven't seen prices come down any. :twocents:
