It sounds like you plan to be a plinker without a specific goal like long distance, tactical, or hunting. Build a 5.56 and get the conversion. Much easier to get rid of if you want to upgrade or you find out its not for you.
I bought the cheaper Mossberg. I wish I would have spent more and bought the Sig. No complaints with the Mossberg. It shoots fine. The Sig is twice the gun and costs just about twice as much.
One small correction for you guys. I used to live near a very large Amish community. I can tell you from personal aromatic experiences, soap is not a top priority for the Amish.
Obviously, I need more. Good suggestions on this thread. I am going to start with a cache of .22 ammo and start with 10 boxes of 500. That seems like a low cost investment with a good ROI if it's ever needed.
