      New AR owner

Thanks. I have seen a few people on this site with them, and was curious.

      New AR owner

I haven't heard much either way on the quality of olympic arms. What kinds of experiences have other members had with this brand?

      Vernors makes me choke

My parents live on the outskirts of Detroit. I asked them for one of the ginger ales in the fridge (it was a Vernors). They quickly corrected me and said they only had Vernors, not Ginger Ale. Apparently Ginger Ale is serious business in Michigan.

      And So It Starts.......

There was some idiot on Hannity today advocating the repeal of the stand your ground law. So far the law seems to have done exactly as it was intended for. To try and repeal it is disgusting.

Is George Zimmerman Guilty of a Crime?

From the evidence I have heard so far, it appears to me Zimmerman acted in self defense. In my opinion there is a lot more evidence to be heard. I need more information before I can declare my own verdict either way.

High Risk Sex Offender on the Run...

This is why there should be a real set of Boondock Saints. The fact this guy didn't swing from a tree in the first place is disgusting enough, but for him to ever be in a halfway house is worse.

What dog food do you feed your dog?

I feed the dog purina puppy chow (the blue bag). He seems to love it.

      Favorite Movie Gun

My favorite movie gun has to be Judge Dredd's pistol. It fires whatever kind of round he tells it to.

What will your fight look like?

I like your style. Best to try and be prepared for most anything that comes along.

      Dave's Ghost Pepper

I recently tried the "worlds hottest hot sauce" in Gatlinburg last weekend. I have to say it was one of the more miserable experiences in my life.

      More Ayers stuff

I had not heard she lived in the same building as Axelrod. Wow. Im not a big believer in coincidences either. I wonder how she has profitted from these allegations?

      More Ayers stuff

I couldn't agree with you any more. On the Herman Cain topic, the main stream media dug up dirt on Herman Cain with the alleged infidelity issue. While I can't say I agree with someone being unfaithful, I do believe his love life has no bearing on his ability to lead the country. The...

      More Ayers stuff

The most disgusting part about the Rev. Wright and Ayers situations is the main stream media barely pays any attention to it, where someone like Ron Paul gets raked across the coals for having some racist content in his news letters that he may or may not have known about.

Best real world functioning martial art for self defense

Well if you have more than one trained opponent, the vast majority of times you are not going to win the altercation period. As far as what you said earlier regarding rear naked chokes, the person applying it most likely did not have it applied properly. And as far as using "brute force"...

Best real world functioning martial art for self defense

I disagree with bjj being useless in a real fight. There are several chokes that transfer very well to "real fights". Bjj also teaches takedowns and takedown defense, which dictates where the fight goes. The principles of balance bjj teaches are also invaluable to any real fight you might get...

Best real world functioning martial art for self defense

I agree completely on Bas Rutten. His "Lethal Street Fighting DVD" is one of the best and most informative videos I have ever watched.

Best real world functioning martial art for self defense

I would shoot for a mixture of muay thai, bjj, and some sort of wrestling (freestyle, folkstyle, or greco roman) as all three of these disciplines focus on balance and the proper mindset for a fight. These three seem to be the best way to cover all aspects of a fight as well.
