I'm a skinny guy and carry a Glock 26 in a Crossbreed Supertuck most of the time. When summer clothes make that setup hard, I drop my LCP in a DeSantis Nemesis in my pocket. This combo lets me carry 100% of the time.
They go so far as to put a number on that. It is illegal to use pepper spray indoors when there are more than 20 people in the room. Hopefully if there are 20 people, I won't need to worry (or I'm surrounded and pepper spray isn't going to help)
Chicago ordinance bans "dirks, daggers, and stilletos". I pretty much assume they will categorize any fixed blade in that category, especially any knives meant for 'thrusts'. But then again, I assume they would call my SOG Flash 1 a "switchblade", but I still carry that.
As far as the stun...
I ask due to my frequent visits to Chicago. I carry a knife of the legal limit (2.5") but I'd like to supplement it with something 'no-contact', and the Kimber Pepperblaster is the only pepper spray that looks as if they've advanced the technology and didn't develop it in 1987.
Does anyone have or has anyone used a Kimber PepperBlaster? I like the idea in theory, but they seem hard to aim.
I'm looking for something for those times when carry is not an option.
I know Indy does not officially allow carry in Indy parks, but is this one of those instances where all they can do is ask you to leave, or are the parks considered government property like the mayor's office or post offices?
Additionally, are the Monon Trail and the path around the Canal...
I'm about your body type and just started wearing a Supertuck with my Glock 26 yesterday....
I tried to stuff it into my jeans which usually ride a little loose like yours and my wife said it makes my pants look lopsided. We took a trip to Gap today to get jeans with +2 inches in the waist and...
I interned in the tin mill back in college (2005-2006), and I remember the Gary Works police chief telling our orientation class that USS would not hesitate to fire someone over a knife larger than 2.5", no matter what state law says....
They mean business, and I'm sure they'll find a way to...
just started wearing a supertuck with my G26 yesterday... I am giving it more time before I make a decision, but I have not been able to "forget its there" like others have said they do..... We'll see.
Like someone else said, I dig the fact that I now carry my gun with crosses on either side...
Not sure about his location, but I went to the tea party at the statehouse. I didn't carry either due to being on statehouse grounds.
Or, could I have carried since I wasn't entering any government buildings?
Man, do I feel REALLY ignorant right now... I don't know how I was so far off with this one. Thanks for setting me straight.
Would have sworn I saw universities somewhere in the handgun law, but must have imagined it. I'll be brushing up on my carry law in case I made anything else up too.
So, my wife is a professor at a local university. While heading out last night for dinner, she informed me that she needed to stop at work to scan some documents and email them to a student. I was carrying, so I informed her that I would have to drop her off on the street outside of the...
SOG Flash II is a good choice if you want assisted open (its very speedy). Its low pocket clip lets it conceal nicely, but the thumb stud inhibits quick draws depending on your pocket.
