      Update: I called Glock today, they've had my Gen 3 19 for a solid week, so I figure I'd bug them and ask if they've even looked at it. The tech said they shipped my 19 yesterday after replacing the extractor, ejector, recoil spring and running 4 mags through it. I'll update when I get it back.

      Yes, it is an easy job to install the parts yourself, but let's not forget that some manufacturers will void your warranty if you perform such labor yourself... that and as you said, it may or may not help the problem.
