Yeah, I know its Orien Arms, and I probably spelled that wrong. I'm so used to it being Kiesler's I still refer to it as such, and I think the Kiesler's sign is still up.
I also like 256 Sport/Garden outside of Austin. Its a little shop, but he's got good prices and Dale is honest and...
I got with a friend of mine who's got a mini-arsenal and who is actually a certified armorer for Glock and a few others. He also mentioned the M&P, but only with the trigger kit. He advised against H&K and it was one of the few makes he didn't have represented in one of the safes. Too...
I'm not sure how many rounds you shot, but I own both of those guns and you run 50 rounds through each and you might decide there IS a great deal of difference.
Shooting an ultralight revolver with +P ammo is punishing, and after a box I can feel my palm throb. I'm not a lightweight by any...
If you're already in that area you might as well go over to Kiesler's. They'll do you better than the chain stores and you're supporting a local business.
I had the first set of Ashley Big Dot (now XS) ever put on a CZ40B. My pistol was the one they used to fit them, and I got them for free (other than one way shipping) for letting them borrow my gun. The people are great, the service is great, the actual workmanship and durability is great. I...
If you want a short and smooth trigger, DAO isn't the way to go. I've been checking out a lot of these lately and I've yet to find one with a trigger that I actually like on these. Some are gritty, some are heavy, and some are just all day suckers. You start pulling the trigger at 3am and at...
I like CZ. The trigger is on the heavier side, but I wouldn't say its gritty. Its smooth and predictable, just heavier than I'd prefer.
They wear like cast iron, too. You'll wear out before your gun does.
Wow.
M&P is out. Fingered a friend's 9mm and that trigger is worse than the Glock. Terrible feel, and he said the accuracy wasn't as good as his Glock.
Alright, I screwed up the quotes thing pretty bad. "IMG" isn't quote, obviously. Trying again.
FN isn't on the list, so while I appreciate that recommendation its a no-go.
Any specific thing? I mean, certain brands of AKs used to sometimes have canted front sight posts, so you knew to...
FN isn't on the list.
Any specific thing? I mean, certain brands of AKs used to sometimes have canted front sight posts, so you knew to look for that and if they were straight the rest of the gun was probably solid. Does SIG have a particular issue I can look for or is just an over all...
Neither my 1911 nor my revolver has a rail, so hand held for me. My Glock does have a rail, and I actually do own a light that will hook on their, but I've never been a fan. My Glock never fails to feed without the light, but it will fail to fully go back into battery sometimes with the light...
P30 doesn't come in .45? I'm looking at the web site, and don't see one.
What's the difference between the USP in .45 and the HK45?
As for Sig, I see some reviews saying the older German built P220 are better than the new US built, but no one is saying exactly why. Why?
I've shot a P220 in 9mm many years ago, and from what I remember it was a fine pistol. NCIS was carrying the P228, IIRC, and although I never shot one they looked like quality pieces. What's a good SIG in .45?
*edit*
Ah, the magic of Google tells me that the P220 is available in .45. Might...
Employer says no on Beretta. I think because of reputation of failure to feed overseas, which was more of a magazine issue with lousy followers sticking due to sand. Probably unfair, but them's the rules.
For the past decade or so I've been issued my weapons or had a very strict list of approved firearms. I'm starting a new job in about a month that is all stateside and is a lot more relaxed in its approval list.
9mm, .40 or .45. DAO or DA/SA with a decocker. No wheel guns, no SA only...
This remind anyone else of "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy?
Fast forward to about 2:00 and you'll see why.

This isn't mine, but I ran across it in a search:
To me it looks like some retention straps would be in order if you had to jam on the brakes or hit a washboard road to quick, but a cool idea.
I don't leave anything in my truck, the days of leaving a rifle in a rear window rifle rack...
IF money is no object, go for the Ruger. I handled the LCR, the Taurus CIA Ultra-light, and the S&W 642 back to back. I ended up with the Taurus. They were all fine guns, but the Taurus was $200 cheaper than the Ruger and I didn't feel like the Ruger was $200 better.
Note this was when the...
