      Dog fence

I have a SportDog brand underground fence. It took me forever to bury the thing....that being said, I did fence in 7 acres. All in all, I'm happy with it. I have a Great Dane and a Boxer. Both dogs respect the boundaries after a few training sessions. The SportDog brand has a variable shock...

Educated a LEO the other day

He did, to the best of my knowledge, know that I was CC. Never thought about that point. A lot of good thoughts on here. I do agree with many of the posters in that I is impossible for every LEO to know every law on the books. And again (although it is no excuse) my friend is a reserve...

Educated a LEO the other day

Went up to Terre Haute the other day do visit some friends. I got to do a little shooting with a buddy up there who happens to be a reserve sheriff's deputy. Long story short, after our great day at the range, we decided to have a few adult beverages. While in the adult beverage store, where...

      Survival hatchet

Just received a Russ Kommer bush pilot survival hatchet for the BoB from my girlfriend for my birthday. It seems like a great small/portable hatchet. Does anyone else have one or know anything about them. The online reviews seem great.

      Legal or Not

I purchased a "switchblade" at FDIC in Indy a few years ago. I was told by the vendor that they were legal for firefighters and ems to carry. Long story short....he lied. Luckily the leo that set me straight was cool and let me keep my blade.

Have you ever been asked to leave or kicked out of somewhere for OC?

Cc 99% of the time, including banks. I do appreciate reading others encounters to prepare for the time I might get "made." With a good understanding of the law and a calm demeanor, it seems most situations can be resolved with some brief education to sheeple.

Two times in 2 days had my gun this time.

Good job. Sometimes being an excellent witness is exactly the path you should take. You don't know the backstory of what evolved prior to your interjection into the scenario.

      SHTF Cruise

I've been on two cruises and it was some of the best money I ever spent. You truly do get treated like a king. As a side note, a very good friend of mine was on his honeymoon on the cruise ship that was dead in the water. Haven't had a chance to speak with him directly regarding the...

      Lucas oil and knives

I did have to go through a pat-down when I went to the Colts/Pats game last year. Don't recall if I had my knife on me.

The Dog Shoot Thing In Its Entirety

Very well written. You obviously played the part of the mature adult in the entire scenario. Kudos.

      MREs

      Thanks for the info.

      MREs

Does anyone know a good website/store where a fella can pick up genuine military MREs for a good deal. My local surplus store charges me 70 bucks a case. I know you can find deals at gun shows for about 50 bucks a case. Most website that I've found kill you with shipping charges. Any info...

      Carry at Rest Areas

      I whole-heartedly agree.

      Carry at Rest Areas

I apologize if there is already a thread on this subject, but I couldn't find it. I had to stop at a rest area/rest stop along I-65 the other night to do my business. I was CC my Glock 23. Went in, used the restroom, left. No problems. I related this to a friend of mine, and he stated he...

      Pocket Pistol as primary carry.

Well....you must practice a heck of a lot. I'd like to see a pocket draw as fast as a holstered draw.

      Pocket Pistol as primary carry.

I agree that having a firearm is better than not. However, I think that, even with practice, pulling a firearm out of your pocket will never be as fast as pulling a holstered weapon when the SHTF and time is of the essence. This, of course, may be situation dictated as when I worked as a...

      Carrying at home

I don't have any children, therefore, I have firearms in strategic area throughout the house. I don't have to move far to get one in my hand.

What have you done this week to prep?

Picked up a hand-held GPS unit and a hand crank/solar powered radio. The radio was only 20 bucks at Bass Pro.
