Although I am not in Vigo County, I also applied via L1 January 8th and paid local PD fees on January 9th. I am fully expecting at least an 8 week wait time simply based on what I was reading in this thread prior to my application. It is hard to say, but I wouldn't expect to get your LTCH...
I have no desire to be a "Cowboy Vigilante". I would only involve myself if I feel an unarmed individual is in eminent danger of being physically harmed by an attacker, and honestly that would be a hard thought decision on my part. Not to sound selfish, but I decided to purchase and carry a...
Scary.
Congrats.
Downtown used to be fun, not so much anymore. Hopefully the police AND business Owner's (they have a responsibility as well) get a handle on things real quick.
So I purchased my first handgun recently (S&W Performance Center 1911 full size) and after going back and forth with... Do I carry? If I carry do I go IWB, OWB? How comfortable is it going to be? Should I dress to conceal? Etc, etc. Applied for my lifetime LTCH on Jan 8 (L1). Training...
If it were me, I would meet the buyer at the range, go over the basic basics of safe gun ownership. Allow him to fire the gun so he/she gets the feel of it in a "controlled" environment. I wouldnt spend several hours with the buyer, but let them "kick the tires" so to speak. Obviously...
I hear ya and agree 100%. My only concern (and maybe it is not a concern as I have not tried yet), is when carrying a full size 1911 IWB, the gun appears to be in roughly the 4 o'clock position. I would think that when I am sitting down in a vehicle, the gun would be digging into me or into the...
I too am looking for an IWB holste for my 1911. I have never carried beore. A question for those that carry, what do you do when you get in a vehicle? Do you unholster the weapon each time you get in to drive and then reholster when get out of the car?
It is going to be an impossible fight. Regardless of the number of gun owners, politicians have proven time and time again that they will pretty much do whatever they want or whatever the big party dogs want them to do and almost never do what their constituents want them to do...
It was a bad guy with a gun. A good guy with a gun did something that will help keep at least one more bad guy with a gun off the streets (at least for a little while).
Anytime a bad guy with a gun is taken off the "playing field" is a good thing in my book.
+1 for the dad.
