Do you unholster the weapon each time you get in to drive and then reholster when get out of the car?
No way.
Leave it alone.
The more times you mess with it, the more you increase odds of a mishap.
when carrying a full size 1911 IWB, the gun appears to be in roughly the 4 o'clock position. I would think that when I am sitting down in a vehicle, the gun would be digging into me or into the seat.
I carry mine at 3 o'clock as that's the easiest place for me to conceal it, and I have no issues.

If you can't sit comfortably with it on, perhaps you should try carrying it in a different location on your belt?
That being said - if I were going to remove it for anything other than firing it when needed - I remove the whole holster, and not just the firearm.
My wife has had her permit for a while now, I think something near a year... She got it just in case I ever left a firearm under a seat or in the glovebox and then she drove the vehicle - she would have a permit and be A-OK.Thanks. Sounds like I need to quit complaining and whining and just try it to see if it works. LOL!!
My current OWB favorite is my Bianchi carry lock ,has a small lever that you flick to release it on the draw,Have Desantis IWB paddle style Model no. 028 80
