      Guns in Hawaii questions

I have spent several weeks in Hawaii over the past few months. All connected to my work. Some would say, wow, you get to work in Hawaii? Let me tell you, it is not all white sandy beaches , grass skirts or palm trees and coconuts. First the politics is I think 99% democratic. So dont...

Casting bullets, Thumbs up to Lyman

Sure, Here is what the problem was, I was not getting good consistency with the hollow point bullets being cast. Very seldom did the point of the bullet form correctly, also at the base of the bullet, the base was not perfect. I asked if I needed to pour direct from a furnace, and then...

Casting bullets, Thumbs up to Lyman

I have been casting bullets for a few years, not as many as my father did and not as many as several others have. Generally I have few problems. In the past few years I purchased two hollow point molds from Lyman. One was for my 44 calibers and one for the 45 auto's and revolovers. These two...

      Jail

I have a Bible Study at our local Jail. I can tell you that several return for varied reasons. Some really do get serious about changing their lives. Some just care about what they have to do to deal with what is on their plate right now. They are the ones who generally return. Meth is...

      Local news media coverage

I attended the NRA Convention. I generally try to attend as many as I'm able to get to. Friday was an excellent day. What I have not seen is decent coverage from the Indianapolis media. Some short blurbs and casual mentions but nothing compared to the health fair that was on Saturday. Their...

      Pre-registering for show admission

I too am disappointed at the appearance of the "badge" to get in. I do prefer the name be printed and the ribbon, if applicable. I called sometime ago and inquired about pre-registering for the convention. They said to just go in and register at the convention. Honestly, I have done that...

To those who have been to one before, how much time will I need?

You can easily spend two days there. I guess you can walk it and see it all in a day. It is so enjoyable that I spend two days. Really good people and a great pleasure to be around like thinking individuals. Lots to see and handle. There are things to purchase, mostly accessories...

How long will canned good last?

If the can is swelling, I would not open it. And certainly not eat it. What ever is growing in the can is gassing and when you open it the seal is broken. All the spores of whatever is growing is released. Generally not good. If the can is not swollen, probably edible. If it smells bad...

In a first, EPA cuts ethanol standard

Ok, yes producing corn for fuel does and will take corn away from the food production cycle particularly if subsidized by the government. And let's not forget driving the cost of the animal based products up at the same time since so much corn is diverted to ethanol and not animal feed. But...

      9.3x62

Being an old curmudgen, I am looking at a rifle in this caliber. I subscribe to Load Data and have printed off some sheets for consideration, but am wondering if anyone out there has any experience with this caliber?

Reduced loads in 458 Win. Mag

No it is not the one at Fort Branch. Acme Guns in Seymour got this one for me. Great deal too. As soon as the brassm bullets and dies get here I will be doing some loading. Yea, I am looking forward to seeing what the loads with Trail Boss can do.

Reduced loads in 458 Win. Mag

Should I clean my dies after loading lead?

I generally swab them out occasionally. No set time, but I just look at them and if they need it they get it.
