I'd like to thank alll of you for the update about the meeting.
I had planned on being there, had to work late instead. I expect to be there next month and I will try to be there next Tuesday.
I sounds like I missed a great first meeting.
Thanks again for the update.
Can you post detailed photos?
The revolver was most likely manufactured by Uberti, but could have been produced by ASM or Pieta (spelling very much in question).
Is it the rod that is broken, or is it the housing?
Parts should be available.
Swapping mag catches will not fix the problem.
The problem comes from the fact that the height of the receiver was reduced by one tenth of an inch so that FA internals could not be used to convert a SA to FA.
To be able to use un modified mags, you need to alter the mag catch or install an...
Greg,
Not as much as I'd like. I plan to head to Monroe Township tomorrow morning with the .36. I'm experimenting with diameter, I usually shoot .350 but I'm going to see what kind of accuracy I get with .345 and .340 round ball.
If things go as expected, I'll be ordering a mold in one or...
Well, I finally managed to get photos of three of my flintlocks.
First up is my First Model Long Land Musket (AKA Brown Bess).
Next is my .50 caliber Longrifle.
Last is my .36 caliber Longrifle.
I lucked into a deal on this one. The builder was adding the Bess to his regular catalog and I was offered a chance at their first one. I picked it up for $850.00 when their catalog price was $1250.00 (I think, I purchased this in 1998).
The parts set is still available and can be purchased...
Narragansett was located in the old Stutz building in downtown Indy. The founder retired in 2001 and sold out to his partner who moved the company to Tennessee. I'm not sure when or why, but the company later went out of business.
My Bess is the Long Land First Model. It has a Colerain...
How about a show and tell thread for our front stuffers?
I'll start with three of mine.
First, a couple shots of my First Model Long Land Musket (AKA Brown Bess)
Next, a couple shots of my .50 caliber Longrifle.
And last (but not least), my .36 caliber Longrifle.
All three were built...
Well, it's been a while. I finally decided on a stock, I went with the ACS-L.
Ordered both of them in black, but the hand guard in the box was OD.
Here are before and after shots along with shot of the Stag in it's case.
First, the case.
Before the upgrade.
After the u[grade.
Next on...
Do you want a full stock or would you prefer a half stock? Flintlock or caplock?
What is your budget? Will you be shooting this rifle much or will it just be a wall hanger?
The newer Traditions offerings are better than they were back in the '70s. But there may be better options, depending...
If you want true black powder, you need to find a gun shop that still carries it. Ludco used to, but the shop has closed. The other option is to order it, it will be shipped directly to you.
If you want one of the substitutes, most gun shops will stock it.
If you are interested in a...
