The Indianapolis store is supposed to get another truck on Thursday, maybe the initial rush is over and they will be able to keep them in stock for more than a few hours. That being said, I used to live in Ft Wayne and the store there is much better managed than the one here seems to be.
I'd argue that it is a very, very good all around shotgun and perfect for home defense. The reload takes some practice but is still faster than putting 8 back into the tube of a pump gun. AK reliability with 12 gauge fury and a box magazine, what's not to like?
Here is the ad for Indianapolis. It is on the front page. Looks like a really good deal, I am going to go over there today. Current Sales - Gander Mountain? > We Live Outdoors - Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Outdoor Recreation, Apparel & Footwear, Gunsmithing
Blasphemy :evilangel:
In all seriousness though, I am not sure that I understand the point. If you want a DA gun with a grip safety that feels sorta like a 1911, the XD is a fine weapon.
Edit: Does this have a grip safety, I can't tell.
Looks like a cool project. I like the FNAR, it is basically and Browning BAR in .308 with some tactical accessories. Would be nice to have a sub MOA .308 with a 20 round magazine.
I have always liked the look philosophy behind this gun, however I have read enough bad about it that if I go with the bull-pup it will be more likely as you said with the MSAR...or maybe the RFB if they ever start making them in any kind of real numbers where I can find one.
Since you are only shooting out to 100 yards or so, is there a reason you are looking at variable power rifle scopes instead of something like a fixed 3x or 4x or even just a 1x Red Dot?
Also, will this gun be used for home defense or SHTF?
This really is a great deal. For those looking, keep in mind that it is an ORC (Optics Ready Carbine) which means that is does not come with any sights, so you will have to budget money for an optic or some irons.
What are you going to use the 1911 for? Will it be a carry gun, home defense, range shooter, all the above?
Also, keep in mind that the grip angle between a 1911 and a Glock is very different. I find that if I switch from my 1911 to a Glock I have to be mindful not to shoot high because my...
I am still quite happy with this scope and it has held up well with no issues to date. I may be selling it soon though as I am finding through this evaluation that the type of shooting I do will most likely be better served by an EOTech or the like. I am glad that I did not spend the $800+ on...
It is a good gun but you may be able to go to Spikes as others have mentioned and get a better weapon for the same money. If you really want that gun, then get it online for up to $200 cheaper. I am not sure that I have ever seen a "good deal" at Gander...
