Kinda hard to say I treat my past training as gospel when I openly admit that I changed several habits and procedures and am currently weighing others that I was taught. I just don't ditch what I know works and has worked for me thus far just because an instructor says that he believes this is...
And this is the attitude that pisses us off. I don't care if you're on the road, but, if there is a shoulder or sidewalk that will allow you to get over for a while so that we can pass you, use it. Cyclists who stay there in the lane like they're in a motorized vehicle are no better than the...
Thanks!
Hahaha. No they won't mind. Plus, you'll be using blue guns and converted glocks. Your Sig won't be a factor.
If you have the time and money, go ahead and do the intro class on saturday and the dynamic class on the sunday. I had to split it up due to time constraints, and now I...
I tried that around the house for years. It simply didn't work for me. I was too tempted to fiddle with the gun, left it places, etc. Just generally a bad idea for Aaron1776,
I totally agree with you....in theory. But it doesn't play out that way in real life with a lot of people. The reality...
Great article. Something I've noticed about some of my guys who were SBT operators, paratroops, etc, is that, while they're experts at running their guns and have a solid understanding of attacking an established threat.....some of their home defense or concealed carry ideas are a bit...whacky...
Being a righty, I had never thought of that. What do lefties do to counteract this? Just train right handed?
I see where you're coming from, but I would pose this point: You won't be acting as a marine in a self defense shooting here in the states. (And I'm assuming that since you're in IN...
This is a really bad idea. What if he comes to as you approach him? What if he is playing possum? What if you kick the gun away and he has a backup? What if he has a knife?
Just keep your gun trained on him, and, if he moves to attack you shoot him again.
Depends. Unarmed and running away...
The AAR
Between career stuff, family, and re-writing the review, life has conspired to keep me from posting the review for more than a week now. I apologize for that.
Originally I was going to write a completely different review. I wasn’t going to talk a ton about the training. I wanted...
This works on the range, but is for the range only.
This sometimes works
This is another "range only" fix.
The best way is to simultaneously rack the slide and "flip" the gun (lean it) to the right (where the ejection port is located on most firearms).
This can be done both on the...
If this were true your gun would go into slide lock every time you fired. The pressure upwards from the rounds/ mag spring is negligible.
The most likely reason is energy lost due to your hand being on the slide when you "sling shot" the gun and the slide begins to move back into battery...
Yeah I really should have put that in purple. lol
I'll do that now.
This is what amuses me about people who say that they don't believe that modern firearms should have manual safeties.......and then they take their glock or M&P and lighten the trigger to sub 5lbs
Right.
I'll see you in...
esrice speaks solid wisdom here. He and I had similiar experiences with finding out that the M&P fit our pistol needs better than our first polymer guns.
You however need to compare which ones fit you best.
This was my comparison of the M&P 9mm to the XD and XDM...
Can't say I disagree with you at all. I wasn't so much arguing the capacity side (I carry a 1911 operator...if I run the gun dry I'll just reload), I was arguing that a mouse gun was a bad idea for the following reasons.
1- When shooting a 9mm (or below) you're giving up a lot of stopping...
The only condition that is advised is highlighted in blue. Condition one, is not advised....for some reason that I'm not entirely sure of? Conditions 3 and 4 are down right unsafe.
Why is it unsafe? Because if you are carrying a gun and ever need to get to your gun, it will be totally useless...
One: I'll just echo this just to make sure you get the point.
Never.
Buy.
Kimber.
Two: Carry a full sized gun. HOW you conceal is far more important than the size of your gun. I'm 5'8" and 150lbs, I have zero problems concealing a full sized M&P 9mm or a 5" government 1911.
Why a full sized...
In the last movie I'm fairly certain it was a .380
Silly Europeans generally don't know squat about firearms. Never have. Everyone who did moved here. :D
As so evidenced by my family.
