    Not behind, in front of, texting/phoning drivers who are crossing the center line.
    I hate having to dive for the edge of the road because you're an inattentive idiot.:xmad:

    I'm pretty patient behind the wheel so most of these don't bother me. People in bicycles bother me in certain situations. The only ones that bother me are the ones that think they don't have to obey any of the rules of the road. 90% of the cyclists I see do everything they can to use hand signals for turns, go with the flow of traffic, etc. However, every once in a while I will see a complete idiot. There's a guy that I regularly see riding his bicycle down New York Street (which is a one way headed east)...going the wrong way. Seriously? I've seen him nearly get hit many times.

    City buses? Only when I'm trying to go home from work and I leave right at the exact moment that the bus pulls up to the bus stop that's right in front of where I work and blocks the exit.

    People who can not drive a consistent speed. When following they fluctuate their speed between 40-65 (this is usually in a 55 zone). God help me to not execute a pit maneuver.

    Fat women walking slow down narrow hallways, swinging their arms out to the side so you can't pass them.

    For sure...their thighs rubbing together as they walk make me think two pieces of sandpaper rubbing each other.

    I thought of another one. People who don't accelerate after a turn or who pull in front of you from a stop sign when you are cruising. Today I was coming from the post office and a really old guy was in front of me. We were both turning right at a stop sign. He stopped ahead of the white line, WAY ahead, almost to the point where he shouldn't even have stopped since he already ran the stop sign. It is a 45, and a passing zone. He was literally idling the turn, and then was going 15, then slowly to 20 mph. Of course, I decided to pass him, and I am the bad guy ( as he indicated with his hi-beams LOL in the daytime too ). When a 1.8L sedan passes your V6 from a dead stop, you know you are going WAY too slow.

    And then there are those people that pull in front of you from a stop sign on your right or left when you are traveling the speed limit down a main road. I am on a state road going 55 and no cars behind me. People decide, heck I can make it, and just pull right out. Well you are going ZERO MPH and I am going 55! You have literally 2 seconds to get up to speed ya dumby! And I always use my cruise control. Most of the time we are in a passing zone, so all I have to do is move over and breeze right by. But other times I just keep my cruise on, and get right up on them without accelerating to see if they will make it up to speed before I have to brake :D

    I voted farm equipment. It seems like many farmers use NO common sense when driving on the road. I firmly believe that a lot of farm vehicles are used infrequently, are not maintained to road going standards, and are driven by inexperienced people. Many farmers choose rush hour or after dark to move their enormous machinery. I can't even begin to say how many times I have seen a huge poorly lit tractor at night on the road with no escort.

    If construction companies are forced to move their equipment across town with a semi, farmers should too. City streets are not the proper place for a tractor, combine, or large farm implement.

    When on a four lane road and there is two cars side by side going under the speed limit because they didn't see the speed limit changed from 45mph to 55mph.

    That reminds me of when I was a stupid punk kid. I would find the slowest possible vehicle on the interstate and then just pace it. Now that I'm a punk adult instead of a punk kid I realize just how horribly annoying that is. Looking back I don't really know what the point was besides pissing people off, but for some reason I found it funny at the time. I was such an awful teenager...

    People who ride their brakes because they can't keep a steady foot or use cruise control drive me nuts.

    If I'm wrong let me know but riding a bicycle on a city sidewalk is illegal. Give me a minute and I'll try to find the IC codes...

    I've been struck and had friends deliberately struck by vehicles too impatient to slow down and wait for a safe moment to pass because they think their three ton car has a more legal right to the road than someone on a bicycle. Yeah, you're vehicles bigger and louder and faster than a bicycle but I'm a human being and you're a human being both trying to get somewhere without dying. Some people can't get over it.

    www.in.gov
    IC 9-21-11-2
    Roadways; rights and duties
    Sec. 2. A person riding a bicycle upon a roadway has all the rights and duties under this article that are applicable to a person who drives a vehicle, except the following:
    (1) Special regulations of this article.
    (2) Those provisions of this article that by their nature have no application.

    www.in.gov:
    IC 9-21-8-6
    Overtaking and passing on the right; conditions
    Sec. 6. (a) A person who drives a vehicle may overtake and pass upon the right of another vehicle only under the following conditions:
    (1) When the vehicle overtaken is making or about to make a left turn.
    (2) Upon a roadway with unobstructed pavement of sufficient width for two (2) or more lanes of vehicles moving lawfully in the direction being traveled by the overtaking vehicle.
    (b) A person who drives a vehicle may overtake and pass another vehicle upon the right only under conditions that permit overtaking upon the right in safety. Overtaking upon the right may not be made
    by driving off the roadway.

    Bloomington Indiana city code forbids riding bicycles on sidewalks, unless the rider is 8 years old or less, and the wheels are 14 inch or less. Any bicycle on a sidewalk must be dismounted and walked.
    http://bloomington.in.gov
    15.56.020 - Operating bicycles.

    Every person who operates a bicycle on public property shall comply with the following provisions.

    (a)
    No person shall operate a two-wheeled bicycle on a sidewalk if the wheel diameter of the bicycle exceeds fourteen inches. All persons riding bicycles on sidewalks permitted by this section shall yield to pedestrians. Such restrictions do not apply to officers of the Bloomington police department who are in the act of performing their duties. A violation of this provision shall be a Class G Traffic Violation, which bears a penalty listed in Section 15.64.010(h).
    (b)
    No person shall operate a bicycle in violation of:
    (i)
    15.12.010 (running a stop sign);
    (ii)
    15.12.020 (running a yield sign);
    (iii)
    15.12.030 (running a traffic light);
    (iv)
    15.16.010 (going the wrong way on a one-way street);
    (v)
    15.16.020 (going the wrong way on a one-way alley).
    A violation of this provision shall be a Class F Traffic Violation, which bears a penalty listed in Section 15.64.010(g).

    Bike lanes are to be used exclusively for bicycles unless signs specifically allow joint use with pedestrians.

    Motorists must yield the right-of-way to bicyclists on designated paths and sidewalks.

    Standing and parking on bike paths is prohibited.

    Drivers must leave a minimum distance of 3 feet when passing cyclists.

    I chose dump trucks. In the last 4 years I've had to buy 3 windshields. Why? Dumptrucks loaded with gravel dropping it on the road in front of me. I've seen that the two second rule for following distance doesn't always work so well when gravel is falling out of a dump truck doing 60+ mph on the road in front of you.

    :+1: Most of the others are just annoyances. These actually cause damage. I pass them as quickly as I can or try to place a few cars between me and them.

    Why does your poll think cyclists are obligated to use the trail or sidewalk? They've every cause to use as much of a lane on the street as someone in a car.

    That said I, while riding my bike, get annoyed by cyclists who don't use bike lanes and trails simply because a lot of people worked long and hard to get what meager infrastructure there is. Roads are worse than trails even if you are a fred trying to train for your cat 5 crit next weekend. The only exception are the heavily used parts of the Cultural Trail where pedestrians absolutely cannot pay attention to the clearly marked lane designators showing them which side is for walking and which side is for biking so they walk 5 abreast in the bike lane and clog up the whole trail.

    But sidewalk? You won't ever catch me on one.

    This.

    I'm a bicyclist. And I have as much right to be on the street as you do.

    Don't like it? Suck my farts.

    And this is the attitude that pisses us off. I don't care if you're on the road, but, if there is a shoulder or sidewalk that will allow you to get over for a while so that we can pass you, use it. Cyclists who stay there in the lane like they're in a motorized vehicle are no better than the people who stay in the left lane going under the speed limit. It's inconsiderate and totally annoying.

    Yes, technically you have a "right" to be on the road because the state of Indiana says so. But since when did we start looking to government for common sense?

    Bikes belong on trails. If you have to use the road, I understand. I used to bike 25 miles just for fun, but for the love of all that is holy be considerate and get out of the way for the cars coming down the street.

    Nope. It's my right to ride my bicycle on the road. It's a $1400 ROAD bike. It's going to stay on the road.

    I stay as far to the right as I can without harming myself. You can pass if you keep your pants on. I will not get onto the sidewalk to make you happy.

    It's my right to ride my bicycle on the road just as its my right to open carry a gun. If I don't exercise my rights, they will be taken away.

    Don't like it? TS.

    Yes because pushing your foot down and turning a wheel a bit inside your air conditioned living room on wheels to get around someone is sooooooo haaard.
