They need to seperate Chicago into their very own state. Growing up in west centeral Illinois, I always get tired of people asking me how close to Chicago I was. And then when I tell them its a 6 hour drive, they continue to disagree with me.

All decisions about Illinois are made in Chicago. Politicians have no idea what Illinois is like outside of the city limits. They're too scared to go take a look.

"Banning assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines will make Illinois a safer place to live," Quinn wrote.

No, you actually mean Chicago. Illinois will be perfectly fine with any kind of weapon.

Same here, Grew up South East Illinois, right across the Wabash, close to Vincennes. Chicago was whole different world, I still lived under the laws that were brought down because of ****-cago.

I hope they do, the manufacturers keep threatening to leave if there are more gun restrictions over there. I hope they pass more laws and all the gun manufacturers in Illinois pick up go elsewhere.

I agree with OneBadV8.. maybe everyone will Boycott Chicago and Illinois!

On another note.. I was asked by a family member if I'd like to go on a weekend vacation to Chicago this Summer.

I just laughed at them and said.. "Hell no!".

Les Baer moved to Iowa a few years back. He got fed up with the goofy anti 2A proposals constantly being floated in Springfield by the Chicago criminal pols.

Maybe Rock River Arms will bail out too.

Illinois will never be anything but socialist thanks to Chicago.

It's funny that you speak of Pat Quinn. I sent him an email on Saturday saying that they need to pass a law to legally carry in Illinois. I'm shocked that I haven't received a response yet.

My grandparents live in southern IL, and everyone around there hates Chicago. When two counties vote democrat, the rest vote republican, and the dems win, you have a population distribution problem.

I thought Reagon already banned assault rifles unless you have a stamp?:D

The 1934 NFA banned them without a stamp, blame Roosevelt. Reagan signed one of the best pieces of federal legislation regarding firearms since the 2nd Amenment it just hapen to have a POS piggyback by Hughes.

The Hughes amendment to the 1986 FOPA made it so that no more machine guns could be added to the registry.

Illinois, I mean Chicago, keeps voting in Crooks and criminals into office. That says something about where the majority of the votes are coming from.

But did some looking up, and found that in the 1920's they actually proposed removing Chicago from the state, but decided that it would be beneficial to keep it since it was a rapidly growing city in Illinois.
