They need to seperate Chicago into their very own state. Growing up in west centeral Illinois, I always get tired of people asking me how close to Chicago I was. And then when I tell them its a 6 hour drive, they continue to disagree with me.

All decisions about Illinois are made in Chicago. Politicians have no idea what Illinois is like outside of the city limits. They're too scared to go take a look.

No, you actually mean Chicago. Illinois will be perfectly fine with any kind of weapon.

Better yet, just sink Chicago into Lake Michigan.....;)

    Here's a question:

A gun is a tool that has many applications.

Doesn't the the user make it an assault rifle?

They don't call a knife a 'cutting' or 'killing' knife do they?

Butter knifes are used only for butter, steak knives only for steak (don't even think about putting it to a slice of chicken the Department of Knives Shanks and Clubs will arrest you for not having paid your $200 modification tax),then you've got the folders, which you use for doing laundry, your box cutters that open packages and cannot be used against aircraft pilots, and then the outlawed stabbing, slashing, slicing and dicing knives; but the bans on the weapons have prevented all stabbings in the US since 1776.

My grandparents live in southern IL, and everyone around there hates Chicago. When two counties vote democrat, the rest vote republican, and the dems win, you have a population distribution problem.
Yes, a lot of them are moving to Indiana, and probably voting in both states.

Will anything be grandfathered? Rifles? Magazines? Parts?

Is there an actual copy of the legislation posted anywhere for review?

The Governor needs to "Scratch his Butt" and say what he really means. No Second Amendment Rights for the citizens of IL.

Ya know, if such stupidity actually got passed by the legislature and signed into law, it sure would be a nice show of solidarity of firearms manufacturers refused any future sales to Illinois-based law enforcement agencies...

Thank you, Dad, for moving the family to Indiana back in the day!

Wasn't thrilled about being a Hoosier at the time, but I am now.

I moved here 8 years ago to get away from that stupidity and governor Blow-dry. What bothers me is the people that move here and try to bring that Chicago nonsense with them.

I was shocked to hear Richard Roeper's response to Quinn saying we have to deal with the cause of such violence. Roeper said the cause is sitting in jail with orange hair and even though he could see no reason to have a high capacity magazine the criminals will still get them, they always do.
