I just shot the G22 I traded for and all I can say is wow!:n00b: That .40 has some snap but man is it powerful. I've had a .45 1911 for a long time and it's awesome but man I am just impressed I guess. All my Glocks up to this point have been 9mm, this is different for sure. And I like it. :rockwoot:

Congrats on your new toy! I felt the same when I first fired a .40. I'm more of a 9 guy myself and it really made it seem like a cap gun!

Be safe, and have fun with that bad boy!

Yes it makes 9mm feel very light. I still have a couple 9mm pistols, although not glocks now. Wow, pure van damage.

I have trusted my G22 for many years and will for many years to come.

If you like the snap of the .40 try buying a glock .357 sig barrel and install that in your G22. You might like .357 sig even better.

I actually like the G22, feels good in my hands and it hits dead on! Surprised me.

I went from the kel tec p11 to the sig pro 40 and was like holy crap this recoil is nothing compared to a 9mm. Big thing was that it came straight back more than it flipped the muzzle. Mine is accurate as a lazer.

I have an XD40sc. The round does have some snap to it, but you get used to it. It's interesting switching back and worth between my XD and 1911 at the range. A little more torque with the 40 and a push with the 45. I love shooting both of them for different reasons.

I am in the process of selling my glock 19 to my brother. I just really love my 27... cant beat a 9 for cost and accuracy, but if you have cash to practice... the .40 is just nasty. My favorite part is looking at the pencil tip shaped holes the 9 makes, and the freakin sausage finger punch the .40 makes.

*I agree with shooter... 45 is more of a push, .40s are snappy.

I think there alot to be said when it comes to how the 40 cal.'s profile differs in an all steel pistol, and a polymer based reciever. I prefer to shoot 40 cal. in an all steel configuration. My opinion is that there is a noticable effect on recoil, and muzzle flip making managability easier. Joshua

I didn't have a problem getting back on target with it, pretty easy really. Torque is a good word to describe the energy you feel, but it's not bad. I really like it, can't wait to shoot it more!! :ar15:

Yep, I definitely felt a difference when I picked up my first .40. The Glock 27 has noticeable recoil. I have a 30 and a 21 (both are 45 ACP's for the non Glock folks) and both have significantly less perceived recoil than the model 27.

The .40 defiantly has more snap then a 9mm. I have a 9mm and .40 in the same platform, and you can tell the difference. One of the reasons I'm going to stick with 9mm. My follow up shots are a lot quicker when shooting 9mm, one reason being as I shoot mostly 9mm guns.

I went out and shot my Glock 22 today after a long hiatus from the range and it was very very impressive and reminded me how much i missed shooting it. It is my favorite gun of mine to shoot because it is a high power low recoil gun that fits my hand well, and if you really like the Glock 22 you should try the kel-tec sub2000 .40 cal. It is a fun experience and is very accurate and will defiantly bring a smile to your face.
