I've love to rent one for an hour but I wouldn't own one. I burn up too much on semiauto. I love my AK & AR but I also love being accurate so I shoot a lot of bolt action.

unless we are talking about weapons that are not able to select fire. i would think everyone would choose the full auto one.
if it is just a selector switch to go back semi auto, then the i cant afford the ammo arguement no longer applies. why have one, when you can have both?
now say an ak, with no choice. maybe not. but any new modern weapon should have a selector in this day and age.

    Gee, let me think......

Heck yeah! I could always shoot it semi-auto to save on ammo. The option to be able to shoot full auto would be great though.

Thread title pretty much sums it up. If the paperwork and cost were essentially the same, would you purchase a fully automatic version of a weapon you already own?

Example, would you purchase a Glock 18 for the same cost and paperwork as you can currently purchase a Glock 17 for?

Would you purchase a fully automatic M16 for the same cost and paperwork as a current production semi-auto AR-15?

No additional paperwork, [STRIKE]just the standard NICS check.[/STRIKE]
No additional cost, MSRP is within $10 of each other.
No additional transfer restrictions, no $200 tax stamp.

No the M14 is as useless as hell in full auto mode. There is a reason the army welded all the selector switches.

Full auto 1911s were found to be useless too. Not that colt didn't try. But with the Thompson and the Grease gun? Why would you want one?

I do wish I could refit my M1 carbine with the M2 trigger pack.

You bet I would love a full auto or select fire. Some of the best times I've ever had were going full auto, from the M16 (burst) all the way up to a 25mm.

Yeah, but I don't want to buy the tax stamp.

    No interest in it otherwise.

If you asked me about silencers, I'd be the same way.

    Just more government paperwork.

I might for a full auto 10/22 and Glock 18, otherwise I could not afford the ammo. I can reload for the Glock, and hopefully bulk 22lr will come back on the market again.

Premise for the question, as spelled out in the first post:

Who wouldn't , but then again full autos wouldn't be worth what they are if they cost the same as a semi auto weapon .

I would gladly take a loss on the C3 stuff I have if the laws were changed and I could buy whatever I wanted. I NEED a water cooled Browning, ok, WANT bad a water cooled Browning.

Since sold off many a semi auto to cover additional full auto toys, of course would be interested in full auto if they were lower cost than now days ..... at least for the first half gross or so ;-)

I would think those with transferrable FA guns wouldn't want the ban lift as the $100,000 They spent on $10,000 worth of old 1980s guns would be worthless instead of steadily increasing in value.

Yes I would want FA stuff.
