    DANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are you? Some kind of anti gun, second amendment bashing commie Obama loving pinko socialist union liberal democrap? You better quit the NRA and join GOA, say 10 Hail Marys and go to an Apple Seed before noon boy!

I am so glad that you must resort to name calling. All I did was post an opinion about how unsafe some folks are.

THIS is why the "purple text to denote sarcasm" thing was started... :dunno:

I don't get offended being asked not to enter a business sans weapon. After all it's their property, and I respect personal property rights. If I don't feel safe without a gun, I won't enter. But if I don't feel safe without a gun, even if I have one, I probably still won't enter.

I frame my purchase decisions around things like price, support, and quality, not whether or not I have my pistol with me when I sign my CC receipt.

I don't have a problem with people coming in the shop armed, but I have a serious problem with people bringing in a loaded gun they intend to trade.. Just a few minutes ago, a guy in the shop flagged his lady friend while clearing his Springfield P9.

I've CC/OC's in them all, never been asked to leave.

If I was having work done, the gun was unloaded and cleared before entering.

Felt naked walking in to IndyTradingPost today unarmed... but I was on lunch from work.

Left with a nice black Glock hat though :D

It's their store, I'll follow their rules.

I agree with you, I am shocked at the willingness to break the store rules by so many on this forum. As if that is not bad enough, they come on this forum and brag about it. I am glad you pointed out what scofflaws we have here.

As with all gun control, rules like this only apply to honest citizens. If a person wants to hold up a gun store or shoot someone he won't disarm himself. Personally, I feel safer when my customers are carrying. As the saying goes, "an armed society is a polite society".

I suppose I didn't properly answer the question though. I will not shop there if I can avoid it. There will be some times they have something I really want, so I'll disarm.

nope. If I can carry my sidearm into the business, but they want it to be unloaded...well it kind of defeats the purpose for being able to carry it...right.

No i am not any of the above mentioned names. But I guess that you must enjoy having a loaded firearm pointed at you.

If you are that small minded that you believe that carrying a loaded firearm into a shop and attempting to sell it while pointing it at an employee then you sir have some real issues.

I still go to several shops that have the "No Loaded firearms" and the sign does not bother me at all.

I am so glad that you must resort to name calling. All I did was post an opinion about how unsafe some folks are.

Did that really need to be in purple for you to recognise it?

I'd be surprised if you noticed a cannon pointed at you with out some one painting it purple and warning you over a loud speaker.

Painting my sarcasm with purple is like sticking a straw from McDonalds in fine wine. Any one who couldn't recognise that as sarcasm isn't worthy of enjoying it.

I'm soooo mad. I was just in Bradis and they told me I had to disarm! :): I'll NEVER shop there again! Never, I say! NEVER! They wanted me to unload RIGHT THERE IN THE STORE! The shame I tell you!

No, seriously though, I've never been in a gun shop that told me I have to disarm before entering and I OC most all the time. :dunno:

Those open carriers are always trying to stir things up. I have heard they are just attention seeking PWers from here...

To answer the question: Are you willing to patronize gun shops that require you to unload your firearm? The simple answer would be no.

However, I believe it is only fair to point out (as others have) that just because there is a sign stating this, doesn't necessarily mean they will enforce it. I understand the need for the signs for insurance reasons and such.

We'd likely have a lot fewer gun stores if owners weren't willing to appease the bureaucracy. Personally, I don't believe I should be required to jump through hoops and get a permit in order to exercise my 2A rights. But I do it. Again, in order to appease the bureaucracy. We'd also have a lot fewer gun owners and carriers if others weren't willing to do the same. :twocents:

I always thought the gun stores were there to train the new gun owners in gun etiquette so later when they show me their gun, they'll do it in a safe way.
I have never been ask by a shop to disarm and if I was, I wouldn't be back. I have been "swept" by more than a few guns and I ALWAYS let them know the error of their ways (usually in a nice way) but I feel like it's the right thing to do before they do accidentally shoot someone.
Hrrmm, I wonder how many times a gun shop employee or owner has chastised someone for bad gun handling and it actually saved the life of someone later?
