If someone is so smart then why are they in here to bash the Colts or the stadium????? There is another thread for that and I am sure they will feel right at home there. This is the COLTS fan thread. What is so hard to understand about that???? :ugh:

Well, I would put it to the server this way. Would you rather:
    #1: Get 2% less of a tip
    or
#2: Have me not eat out at all, and get nothing?

    Wonder what they would pick?

To be quite honest, they would probably rather not deal with your type.

Go eat elsewhere, no one is forcing you to eat downtown and be cheap...

I'm amazed someone as smart as you are needs a phone to calculate a tip. Sounds to me like you are over-thinking it. Just saying.

I cannot even begin to understand your argument of why you would punish them. You don't want to pay the usuage tax? Don't eat in marion county. Trust me, plenty of other people will. The city won't quit turning because some squeaky tight wads don't want to pay 10-20% for someone serving them. Stay home and cook for yourself.

Well, I used to leave between 20-25%, regardless of service received. After repeated attacks on my income by various governments, I have decided that my generosity needed to end. I'm a frugal person for the most part, as we eat out only one or two times a week. When I say I deduct my tip, folks think I am leaving just 15% or less. I have always been a cheap eater (water, burger/chicken, fries, no dessert, no appetizer). My total bills are usually under $20, and I have always a decent tip, so the comments about "Your server will remember you and your poor tipping!" is always a good laugh. I guess those folks actually screw servers. I go from tipping 25ish% tips to 20-22% tips and I get blasted.

I will continue to eat out in the counties where the Ir$ay tax is imposed upon the people. It is the governments bs taxation policy that interferes with a private business transaction.

I really like going to state parks, but I don't want to pay the $6 or whatever it is to get in. I might start advocating additional gun and/or ammo taxes, with those taxes going to the DNR so they can lower the gate admission people for people like me. I guess it is time for me to embrace "My, myself, and I" socialism, as this country has pretty much becoming the United States of Narcissists.

To be quite honest, they would probably rather not deal with your type.

Go eat elsewhere, no one is forcing you to eat downtown and be cheap...

First off, it is hard to avoid the tax if you live in the metro area. The tax just isn't a downtown only tax. I can avoid renting a car in Indy, and can avoid renting a hotel in Indy, but when I eat in my county, which has nothing to do with Indy outside of sharing a border, I have to pay a portion of the Ir$ay tax. So I have decided to do what I need to do to equal myself out in relation to what I was paying pre-Ir$ay tax. I'm still leaving 20%ish tips, but my generous 24-25% tipping days are over. My guess is that many servers would love me as a customer. In fact, it is likely why most servers know us very well, and seem to appreciate our business. I was never a cheap ass before, and from what I hear, 10-15% tips are becoming the norm in this economy, so I doubt our servers care about me tipping them 20-21% instead of 24-25%.

Don't worry though, those supporters of "me, myself, and I" socialism when it comes to subsidized ticket prices can get ready to pay some taxes for "me, myself, and I" socialists who want subsidized mass transit ticket prices.

Hmmm. I'm not sure whether to speak of how much I tip the server at the local saloon, my barber, etc...

GO COLTS! We pretty much have to win every, especially division games, to make it to the playoffs and have a chance. One game behind Jacksonville and they seem to be playing pretty darn good.

NO INTERCEPTIONS / TURNOVERS = WIN

    GO HORSE!!

Go Colts... but how about putting in Painter after Mannings next pic??? Manning has started the downward slope. He's staring down receivers through their route, I'm surprised he's not getting pic'd more...

BTW, I wasn't going to get into the stadium financing boondoggle argument, but after reading a few posts from members who are all about reaping the benefits of the govt. handouts, I say put an extra 50% tax on single game tickets, and an extra 75% tax on season tickets, that would go towards nothing other than paying down the stadium. If you guys are so die hard and appreiciative of Irsay giving you the privelege of having the Colts, then maybe you should put up or shut up and pay your fair share???? I'd love to see how many "true" colts fans would sit their $5.00 @$$3$ down.... :twocents::cool:

Peyton's just in a slump , happens even to the best especially when asked to do more than ever before. They'll get it together and get into the postseason.

Dominic Rhodes is back! I hope he runs hard like he did in the past. We can really use him.:rockwoot:
What they couldn't dredge up Marshall Faulk or Eric Dickerson???? As much as I liked Rhodes in the past, there is a reason he hasn't been in the NFL for over a year....

And what would that reason be?????
    > ineffective, sporadic at best... :( We've cut him twice already, I'm not sure what anyone thinks he will bring to the table he didn't have two years ago....:n00b: I'll be the first to admit, he did an awesome job in our SB win, but....
ON EDIT... I hope he proves me wrong and does a great job.

Let's see, cut twice before. Wasn't good enough then to be picked up by any other teams. Hasn't played in what, two years? Likely won't be even close to the physical condition he was in back when he wasn't good enough to play before. I predict that he'll be about as useful as a screen door in a submarine.

He has been playing in the UFL and doing pretty well from what I gather. I mean I don't think anyone is expecting a repeat of the 2006 Rhodes, but they are looking for depth at a position that has been wiped out.
