    I guess my question is if they informed prospects before doing so. If they didn't it might be some kind of misrepresentation. If they did warn you ahead of time it'd be hard to complain.

    Aren't they opening themselves up to some serious legal challenges, possibly lawsuits? What about privacy laws? And wouldn't the police be opening themselves up to lawsuits as well by taking people's names from the range and running background checks without their knowledge? They were not under arrest, so what gives the police the right to do something like this?
