I got a BB gun in kindergarden but the first real gun I shot was a Mossberg 152k(<wish my dad hadn't sold it when my parents got divorced) when I was about 8 or 9 and the first real rifle was my dads Remington 270 when I was about 12.

I think mine was the Glock 26 ? About a month ago. And I believe I said to Lars as we walked out, "I'm never doing that again."

    Yeah, that worked.

    ***EDIT***

*points at W9ZEB's post below* Yeah.. Ok. I'm new.

It was a single shot 22 rifle at Boy Scout camp when I was 11. The next year I was given a used Winchester Model 67, single shot bolt action rifle. I still have it and it shoots very well. Both of my kids and numerous Boy Scouts have learned to shoot with this rifle.

Im pretty sure it was my Dad's Iver Johnson .22lr pistol in our basement. He had this tree stump we used as a back stop. Our dog always really freaked out when we would shoot it down there!

Some type of .22 Rifle in a back yard shooting range. I loved it. Something about the smell of gunpowder is amazing. The first pistol I ever shot was a Beretta that my buddy picked up at a local gun show. We used to sit around in his apartment and field strip it and reassemble it.

The very first gun I ever fired was a friend's Colt Officer's Model in .45. It jammed and stovepiped so much that I didn't touch any 1911 style pistol for over 10 years.

I have the first gun I ever shot. It's a 1917 (mfg) Savage Favorite, which is a boy's gun with an octagonal barrell and rolling breech block. The ejector is so worn down that you can only shoot shorts in it. I get it out of the gunsock to oil and clean it show to friends but shoot my 10-22 when I want to do any plinking nowadays.:do2:

I really couldn't remember that far back :dunno: and then reading thru these posts, it suddenly came to me. 22LR at the Krannert YMCA Summer Camp. Do not remember where the camp was located (Flatrock?) but it was the first time I had ever been away from home for a week.
