    Pulled this out of a lagoon by the Wabash today, but I have no idea what it is. It was about 25 inches long, and it was at least 5 lbs (I'm terrible at estimating weight).

    I do believe that is a drum. I am sure there will be some river rats come along to verify or tell us what it really is.

    There was an article about the Wabash River pollution in the Journal & Courier on Sunday, so now my grandparents won't let me bring anything home, lol.

    Yes, it was a silver carp. Fight like heck and are fun, but they're trash and the DNR actually asks that you kill them, IIRC.

    Josh is right, its a Silver Carp. If you ever catch another one, kill it. DNR says to kill any asian or silver carp you catch. The are a nusince fish and can disrupt the environment for our native fish. The also can carry desease. Also, if you cath one you should report it to the DNR.
