You only look at two parties, then you're always going to be in that state... Our guy is (marginally) better the other doofus.

Lincoln won a four way race - and in only the SECOND national race the Newly Formed Republican party faced.

I'll be enabling the ascension of liberty when I vote. The rest of you can keep voting for the same old "destroy the Republic" tried and destructive candidates. Just think of what could happen if we all voted FOR someone, instead of voting AGAINST the other idiot.

    Ron Paul gets the Nomination....

    LMFAO!!!!

    Not in this timeline...

I've got to say, that I think this is the most rude thing I've read today. Not only does it add nothing to the discussion, but it is here to make fun of the people who were trying to have a discussion. :noway:

Should have added .....I do not support Ron Paul, but I will vote republican if he does not win the nomination. Oh well, interesting how many people are so set on paul that they would hand re-election to a Siocialist rather than vote for the republican nominee. Ron Paul himself, to Sean Hannity, said he would not turn into a third party candidate. I suppose he could change his stance on that, if he does it'll be a shame, the republican candidate could likely use those votes to defeat Obama. Because Paul would certainly not be able to defeat Obama without Republican votes.

fearless leader needs to go (and he can go to Hell as far as I am concerned.)

Further, we need to get rid of statist pigs; not simply replace one statist pig with another statist pig such as a romney or a gingrich.

Frankly, I've had my fill of statist pigs.

    Choose wisely.

I want to know what the strategists think. How will any other candidate win?

Ron Paul is the MOST electable.

Want to beat Obama? Ron Paul is the only one who will unite this crowd, AND pull away Democrats.

The thing that gets me is that Ron Paul has promised the moon but will he be able to deliver.

This whole foreign policy deal is kinda laughable and I feel it's kind of naive of his supporters to think he will just shut down all military operations and close every base on foreign soil and bring all the troops and equipment home. Not to mention stopping all foreign aid.

He has promised alot of things but will he be able to garner the support he needs from congress to pull it all off? The question is: Will he be able to deliver and if he can't will he be labeled a hypocrite and a liar?

If he wins, the fight is only beginning. Its up to him to lead, and its up to Americans to push Congress toward supporting his ideas. At very least he can veto all the abominations that they pass. Its up to the Republican Congress to decide if they are serious about repealing Obamacare, reforming taxes, cutting spending, etc, etc, etc, etc. Every candidate has some grand ideas. (9-9-9!!)

I hope he gets the opportunity to at least try. Nobody else in the running would even do that much.

Pot calling the Kettle black there, I see you have added even less to the thread than I have...

I am a Realist, if that disturbs your little slice of Reality. Oh Well. Ron Paul is to far on the Fringe to catch the Votes in the Places he needs to win a National Election. He will not sweep the Coasts or in the Big Metro areas either. That is the Reality...

Maybe i'm skeptical but to me I see no difference in all the good stuff that Ron Paul offers in a campaign to get elected and may not be able to deliver than what any other candidates claim and won't be able to fulfill. The only difference being is that his is on a grander scale and he has much more to deliver.

As to the part about a Republican Congress being serious about all those things you've mentioned I think the same would apply if, say Romney would get elected as well.

I'd vote for anybody over Obama. I did not feel quite this way a couple years ago, but I am now convinced the guy is a die hard socialist, bent on taking down this country. But frankly, Ron Paul is low on my presdential pecking order.

That's what they said about a black guy getting nominated, but...
    Maybe what "they" said...

But giving a Choice between the Obama and Clinton. Hell Even Bill voted for Obama... :D

If the Anti-Christ had ran against Hillary. America would have voted the Anti-Christ into the Seat of POTUS over her...

I'm not going to give any background, because I'm tired of all the bickering, so I'm just going to pose a simple question:

If you do NOT support Ron Paul, but he gets the nomination, how would you vote in the general?

if you DO support Ron Paul, but he does NOT get the nomination, how would you vote in the general?
I WILL NOT VOTE FOR MR. OBAMA! I have my problems with some of the Republicans running, but any one of them would be better than what we have now. Remember, it would be Obama's second term. Think about that.:xmad:

Were I to vote strictly on my principles, I would have been able to cast one ballot and one ballot only for anyone who has been President since the Constitution was ratified.
