Think of them like a director of directors. Some series' will have different directors for each episode, letting them add some of their own flair to their episode. The showrunner's job is to make sure it all stays cohesive. Does that make sense?

I watched the 2 episodes of season 4 on Hulu today...pretty kewl but it feels like a hour long program about white people bad...so may lose interest.

Vaguely. Well, more very similar, except the plot and characters are all different.


Like the movie, it centers on a crime in Western MN, and plays on the culture there.

Overall I enjoyed the whole series. And as an someone who spent my teen years in the 1980s it was very nostalgic.

Just started Tin Star on Amazon, so far fairly good.

Started Rectify and Reckoning on Netflix and neither that good. I thought the acting in both were awful.
