I laugh at people who wear a tac vest to the range..if I seen someones out shopping or walking their dog with one on Id probably **** my pants laughing so hard. if you're wearing one at a competition or something and have a valid use for wearing it then cool beans..if you wearing one at the range while sitting on a bench shooting you're $1,500 AR that you would cry if dirt got on it then you should punch yourself in the throat.

Thats right up there with a guy wearing a football helmet just because they like the 49rs, Or they guy walking around the mall in motorcycle chaps (brand spanking new, and obviously not broken in) and seeing him getting into an 80s model Escort on your way out of the mall.

I honestly don't know if I'd ever need that many pockets for day to day activities. The only things that go in my pockets are: keys, can of cope (wintergreen), front pocket money clip wallet, and cell phone. When I wear a tac vest I do it just to be sexy in my banana hammock (plus in a speedo, you don't have enough room for keys, wallet, phone, and chew). The ladies really love my back hair sticking out along with a glimpse of crack every time I bend over.

OK, now we need an emoticon of eyes bleeding and being scrubbed with bleach! Seriously, I won't get that mental image outta my head for weeks! :(

In the Marine Corps, we call these people gear queers. and depending on how much ridiculous unusable crap they have hanging off of it gear bombs.

...What would you put in the pockets?

    Duh...bacon.

In response to the OP, I would be in the point and laugh crowd, and would probably be OCing while I did it. When I was in high school, a guy wore ninja boots...

    ...and boots like this...

    (yes those are women's boots)
..and claimed "freedom of expression". "Freedom of Expression" is the pat answer to being called out for looking like a tool. Don't be that guy.

I voted I would laugh at someone who wore one everyday. They have their place and usefullness which is not as an everyday piece of wardrobe, unless you are in a job that requires you to wear it everyday(.mil,.gov,LE,etc). I can see wearing a regular bulletproof vest everyday when you first get it to shape it to your body ,some plate carriers too but after that they have their place and should be used when needed or when training and thats about it imo. Dont be a gear queer!(what we called people in the Corps like that, lol)Nevermind I see the good Marine from Danville covered that already, lol. S/F!

To me, a tac vest is part of a uniform, and you're either qualified to wear that uniform, or you belong with the rest of the mall ninjas ....

I really try not to laugh or make fun of people who dress or act "differently." This case, of course, would be one of the exceptions. I voted for laughing at them.

I have yet to find myself wishing i didnt leave the tac vest at home. If you want your new found fashion statement to be treated as if you are "coming out" in say the 1920's you go right ahead. I dont see why you would post this in this forum. seems more like an off topic thing. Maybe find a pop culture forum or something of the like and post your poll there. They may think you to be a great man of fashion. But none the less, I have seen weirder things. There is a guy at work who wrote in magic marker "socom" on his hardhat because he likes the game. Tis a free country.
