As for the gop allowing Obamney to get away with his plans. I have no doubt they'd line up behind him and go for it. They're already talking about repeal and replace like it's a done deal. Engage in all the gymnastics you care to. My vote's going for a better man.

1 He's not the most socialist president ever. Look at history, 2 other presidents hold that distinction.

2. I'm no Closet Liberal and are probably way more Conservative than you.

3. I don't like Obama or whoever is running against him. So I have other options than throwing up in the booth. So I can vote him out.

Jedi, is correct. Due to the way our monetary system was set up in 1913, all 'money' in circulation is borrowed by the gov. from banks and must be payed back, with interest. And where does the interest come from, more borrowed money. Therefore, the debt can never be satisfied.

Sadly there's a lot of truth to the lack of distinction between the two parties' policies. But to directly respond to the OP's question; should we hasten the calamity? I say no. I will always strive to make things better for myself, my family, and my country. I have at least a hope that Romney may move to the right if elected, because of folks like you and me becoming more engaged in politics. Most importantly, in my opinion, is that the next President will almost certainly appoint two Supreme Court justices. Despite the abject idiots Obama selected for appointment to the Supreme Court, there was no discernible attempt to block them by conservatives in Congress. I have much greater confidence that Romney would appoint constitutional conservatives. (I know you'll say we thought Roberts was a conservative and he just sodomized us and the Constitution, but the exception does not make the rule.) This is at least one place there is a real difference between Obama
and Romney.

Read the opinions in the recent gun control cases that SCOTUS heard. Replace any of the 5 Justices in the majority with Kagan or Sotomajor type replacements. So we KNOW another Obama appointment will strip our gun rights away.
