I have these same coils. I rebuild them every time it needs it. I've got it down to about 3-4 min per coil. I use 32ga Kanthal wire and unbleached cotton for the wick.
Most of the time, I just take the wick out, burn the coil a few times to get anything nasty off of it and put a new wick in.
It couldn't be simpler. compared to around $2 per coil, rebuilding takes just a few cents.

Agreed, the EVODS are very easy to rebuild. For around $4.00 I got enough wick and wire to rebuild about 60-75 times. Sure beats the $3.00 each I was paying to replace them.

Been vaping 4 years now, my wife for 2.

I've even had the chance to test some of the liquid on a spectrum analyzer to check what was in it. I make my own now.... Make your own it's WAY cheaper and you know what's in it. I can make 500ml of menthol smoke juice for like $24.00.

I breathe better, smell better, and am all around in better health. LOVING it!

10 days and still no analog. I have only smelled a burning cigarette once and it wasn't appealing. I was in a sales meeting a few days ago and someone I didn't even know smoked, sat next to me. Yep, I used to smell just like that.

I am so glad I have made the switch. I am breathing better, sleeping much easier. No morning hack to get the lungs kick started. The wife likes sitting close to me and I am getting much more attention :).

I haven't found a juice that I am thrilled with, but I keep buying samples to try. Coffee and tobacco flavors are my all day vapes so far. I don't care for the sweet, fruity flavors.

Check out Want 2 Vape if you like Tobacco flavors. They extract flavor from real tobacco and have a much more robust flavor. I really like their London blend and Paris blend. They do not produce as much vapor as some juice does, so I have taken to cutting it about 80/20 with a Halo Tribeca for the London and Prime15 for Paris. It makes a nice vape and still has a very robust tobacco flavor.

    antifreeze scare

I searched this thread and didn't see where it was mentioned, so here goes:

The closest I have ever come to quitting was with the electronic cig's. I was talking with my Sister and Bro inlaw about these recently. They had been attending a smoking cessation class where the facilitator discussed these e-cigs.

Now I have attended these classes myself and they didn't do much for me. I honestly kept waiting on them to call us into a circle and start singing "Kumbayah." What was also annoying was that the facilitators would start spouting of all the evil things the manufacturers were doing to keep people hooked without siting references to their statements. (s.a. glass shards in chewing tobacco to cut the inside of your lip so the nicotine would enter your bloodstream quickly, etc, etc.) I kept wondering how much of that was just Urban Legend.

Anyway, these facilitators were saying that these e-sigs were actually filled with antifreeze and that's where the steam came from that one exhales. Does anyone know the facts surrounding this statement?

There's a big difference between Ethylene Glycol and Propylene Glycol. EG is most commonly used in anti-freeze in the auto industry. PG is used in the food industry. E-fluids have Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, Nicotine, and flavoring. People get caught up in the antifreeze scare because of the similarity of hearing ****lene Glycol and not taking a moment to do a little research.

Here's mine with the ubiquitous gun porn.

Adjustable voltage, Adjustable wattage, Ohm check, puff counter. When hooking up a cartridge with a different ohm value, it automatically adjusts for the difference. Internal rechargable battery with mini USB charge port.

Here's a chart to go by when setting your wattage and voltage:

My cartridge is reading 2.2 ohms. Voltage is set to 3.4 volts, watts set to 6.0

In regards to replacing coils, I've yet to buy a new coil. I have 5 cartomizers and 5 coils. I'm still experimenting with the best way to clean them beyond rebuilding my own. My best guess would be to clean them in an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner but I don't have one.

So far, I've been soaking them in vinegar and then soaking them in a container of vodka. When I need one, the coils brown wick come out of the vodka nice and white again. I then hook the coil by itself to the battery and burn it off til I can look into the barrel of the coil and see the glow. Then I attach the coil to the cartomizer and fill with fluid, take a few dry puffs to draw the efluid into the wick and I'm good to go for the vape.

Correct. Propylene Glycol was added to antifreeze to reduce it's level of toxicity.

That looks all cool and stuff but it was suggested I not get that model from a dealer who actually carried them. I thought it looked cool and it was like $70.
Dang. Where did you find that for $70? I can't find it for less than $115.

I don't care for it but my son wants one.

It was at IndyEcigs in broad ripple. One good reason for me not to like that model is that it takes a battery and doesn't have a recharge port on it. Second, it's just too big for my taste. The ribs just make it look like more than it is.

Again the brand of ecig is not listed. It was plugged in OVERNIGHT. There are warnings in the user manuals (as if anyone reads them) that specifically say NOT to leave them plugged in any longer than is needed to charge them. Over charging any lithium battery will have similar results.

Again an example of misuse by the end user and NOT an actual danger of ecigs if one follows the charging directions properly. That is assuming though that people will hold themselves accountable for their own actions instead of blaming the device that is being blatantly misused.

Caveat Emptor...do some research on what you're buying. My model has short circuit protection and overcharge protection.

It's like if you buy a Jennings and expect it to be a Colt or a Smith & Wesson just because the word 'gun' is applicable to them all.

So far I've been vaping 50/50 juices and get all I want from it. From what I've researched, more PG gives you more vape cloud while more VG gives you more flavor.

Pineapple really tastes good. Blueberry, Bluebacco and Peach tobacco are pretty good. Menthol is WAY on standby. It was pretty darn strong and I like the flavors I've tried more than just a menthol vape. Dragons Nectar from Dons vape in broad ripple has been an all day vape flavor. I haven't tried any food flavors yet.

It's also funny how people who vape are still treated like smokers. I was at the Sinking Ship in Broad Ripple and asked the waiter if they were vape friendly. He told me no smoking or smoking devices are allowed in the building. I suddenly got that shunned feeling.

Stopped in IndyECigs today. Bought some new juice from Space Jam that tastes awesome. I think I found my all day vape. Also bought some grape escape from NicQuid and some wick and wire to try my hand at rebuilding my coils. My first attempt ended up being 0.5 ohms which was too little resistance to heat it up. Wrapped it a few more times and ended up with a 3.3 ohm coil which works just fine.

Taking the coil apart I realized my attempts in soaking were for naught. The ends of the wicks were getting white, but the portion in the middle where the coil is wrapped was nothing but black gunk.

Having the variable voltage and wattage and adjusting it to the ohms gives a much more satisfying vape!
