I shot a Barrett 50BMG last night.

My boss sold a Barrett to somebody who wanted him to sight it in for him.
I asked if I could go along and shoot it, too. He said yes.
Sounded like a freakin' cannon. Didn't kick as much as I'd expected.

Switched to an M1 Garand...I never shot one of those either.
A guy explained what the sight picture should look like and had me aim for a man-sized steel target at 600 yards with open sights. I dinged it.
Very impressed with that gun!!
