FWIW, it was actually one mis-key.

When typing "too many" on my iPad I hit the space bar instead of the "m" activating the "double-tap space bar hot key" which adds a period, a space, and capitalizes the first letter of the next word...

Resulting in "too. Any".

There, I feel better now.
