I wouldn't trust a company statement that says they've negotiated 100% in good faith.
GM set up the scam that was Delphi.
They also lied about a deadly fault with some of their cars.
But sure, believe the gal if ya want, she's gotta be honest compared to a grizzled old guy w a cigar.
Anyone is more trustworthy than the guy who wants to eat the rich, while being rich.

    Or, believe the communist.

It’s not like either side can be trusted. They’re both negotiating with self interest.

    "record sales" Here's the facts:

Ford: Down 7 years running. More than 700k less than 2013
GM: Down 7 years running 2.1M down from 2005
Stellantis: down 13% from last year alone

Honda and Toyota are both down this year but in the same 7 year span they have had several up years as well. The big surprise is there is a manufacturer that looks to break sales records this year, and that's Hyundai/Kia. They were up 10% last year and almost 11% to date this year. They're on track to sell 1.5M cars in the US this year which would break their previous record of 1.47M. "record sales"

Yeah saying the big three are setting sales records this year is just not realistic. Sales the last few months have been impressive by month. The expensive autos are outselling the economy models.

Availability was driving the cost. Now that inventories are stabilizing, and companies have learned that they can make up for less sales by making more profitable autos, that’s also what’s driving inventories.

This is a good thing for companies and unions. ****ty for lower wage consumers. The company’s response to that is **** ‘em. We figured out how to make money without that market. The unions response to that is **** ‘em. As long as we get the contract we want, whatever. No one is paid to care so they don’t. Just an observation for anyone trying to salvage out any virtue in all this.

    Oh, so you know him?
    Through work or socially?
I know the communist by his fruits. Do you know the **** running GM? How do you know she’s a ****? It’s intuitively obvious to me. I suspect it is for you too. Let’s say you might have a bit of bias that prevents seeing any fault with the commie though. You have a vested self interest in that outcome.

The big 3, Honda and Toyota are doing that and leaving a massive hole at the lower end of the market. That's how the Koreans have moved in and really made a solid showing the last 5 years. You can still buy a sedan (what?!?!?!?), with a manual trans that isn't soul sucking. In fact they have multiple sizes and shapes of sedans. Many of their smaller SUV's are in the $25-30k range offering a crap ton of content. What does GM and ford offer for a sedan? Ford doesn't even offer a sedan anymore and GM offers the malibu with a 1.5T and cvt.

200 grand doesnt make one rich.
You need to get out of Indiana and see what rich really is.
Many progressives have stated that anyone making over $150k/year is "rich". Not something I agree with. Comfortable, sure. But if they don't spend it well or are leveraged to the hilt with debt it ain't much.

    What salary makes one rich?
According to most socialists/communists I think it is anything over 130k a year. Unless they themselves are making 130k a year, then it is like a 1Mil. Unless they are worth around 1 Mil, then it is like anyone with a billion dollars. It is a sliding scales for communists and socialists. Perfect example is the leader of the UAW who wants to eat the rich. He himself is rich, but does not want those under him to know he is rich, makes them easier to control that way.
