Trump isn't a guy I would care to know or have a beer with. That said, I will enthusiastically vote for him in November because I would like to salvage what is left of our country. Frankly, if he wins I think he will rise to the occasion.

...like he has....when, in his 70 years on this planet?

Best to dump Trump and vote Johnson. Otherwise Hillary IS going to win. Her numbers keep going up and his are going down. A vote for Trump is a vote for Hillary.

Clinton regains double-digit lead over Trump: Reuters/Ipsos poll | Reuters

The time to say "a vote for Trump is a vote for Hillary" was in the primary. Johnson was never a contender. If he was I guess I'd vote for him. I mean, he's a douche bag and all, but that's not as bad as a con man or a criminal.

You'd have to be both blind and deaf not to see how far Trump has come in his political aims since the start of all this.

People only remember his first few debates and define him by that, while ignoring practically everything else he has done.

There were plenty of other choices, actually.

Webb, Kasich, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Bush, Gilmore, Fiorina, Christie, Paul, Santorum, Huckabee, Pataki, Graham, Jindal, Walker, Perry, Johnson...

People are tired of politicians. We have spent a lifetime waiting for politicians to get it right.....they have failed. You take politicians out of your list.......and not much of a selection left. The people want non politicians.......but the problem is, most successful non politicians are not stupid enough to run for President.

Not 1999.... but even in 2013 he spoke of having open borders.

    Suckers.

Now that you are in the present, we only are looking at two choices. No matter how much disdain you have for Trump, I hope you have the intellect to understand he is the better choice.

I don't think it requires intelligence to say Trump will acually be better. It takes a crystal ball. My strategy is this. Hillary is a known bad. I trust that she's going to fight hard to accomplish exacly what she's promised. I know where the range of possibilities are with her. The floor and ceiling are both low. With Trump, the floor could be lower. The ceiling could be as high as the Trumpers believe it is. It's unknown.

Because Hillary is a sure thing, as it stands now, I'll vote Trump. But Trump keeps showing hints for how low the floor might be for him, and how limited the ceiling might be. I might have to just vote for Douchebag Johnson by the time the election rolls around.

Well, so what is it guys and gals, the "loose cannon" or the "criminal"? Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard spot. I cannot vote for the "criminal", so I guess I will hold my nose and have to vote for the "loose cannon". :n00b:

in an age of microaggressions and safe spaces, massive illegal immigration, denial of islam's inherent violence, and of course more gun control that won't do jack squat but leave the innocent defenseless, a loose cannon to fight back against the other side's loose cannons might be just what we need

The anti-Trumpers are fretting over nothing. The Donald will live for his legacy. He will surround himself with the best of the best to take care of everything. Trump is a manager, he'll manage the smart ones who are in charge of the specifics.

Let's say the leader of the New Black Panther Party(H. Naming), known for being pro-gun, was running against Clinton, would you still vote against her? Or would you vote third party for Johnson?

    All depends -
Who, at the time of voting, has the best chance of beating Clinton?

Dead Duck (I ask this every time to no avail)

If the answer was Mickey Mouse, by God that little rat would get my vote.

Is that a yes, or no? And let's say his plan was to restrict immigration from Western European due to their affinity for Socialist institutions. Would that be your guy, or would you sit this one out?

If he/she is the best chance to beat Hillary, they have a vote from me. That simple.
And I have no idea who this Black Panther dude is.

It's not Hillary. Isn't that good enough?

So you'd pick the leader of a known racist group, promoting separation of races, and the punishment of white Americans for crimes they had no hand in.... over Clinton?

You did say they were pro-gun, right?
    That is my only requirement.

I'd vote in the most anti-gun person in the world before I'd vote in someone as I described above. I'd never place an item, or as is described here, a "tool," above people.
