Washing down my migraine pills with mountain dew usually seems to make the medicine work more effectively.

Caffeine.

Yep caffeine helps move the pain meds into your blood faster. Also I have heard anything carbonated helps to dissolve the capsules faster. Don't know if that's true or not but I see the logic of it.

It's actually the high acid content that helps with that. That was my 4th grade science fair project.

Yep, caffeine accelerates the relief. When I first started getting migraines, my 90-yr-old eye doctor told me to take aspirin and caffeine. For years, I carried aspirin, no-doz, and a bottle of water everywhere I went.
