There has been discussion on financial forums as to whether groups like Vanguard and Blackrock (who own large positions in all companies due to their index funds/ETFs) use their shares to influence companies. I would be surprised if they didn't.

On the other hand, DEI seems to be falling out of favor with a lot of large firms who are beginning to recognize that hiring people based on their color, rather than their qualifications, may result in reduced profits which can result in reduced bonuses.
