    Also, you can't really hold a pistol the same as you hold a revolver.

    Be sure that when gripping the pistol that both hands and all fingers are out of the way of the slide.

    You do NOT want to have that slide slice you open or break a finger.

    Amen to that. Practice gripping it (assuming you are right-handed) with your right hand, thumb around the left side, then place the palm of your left hand on the left side of the grip and make sure your left thumb stays below the slide and on the left side of the gun pointing forward.
