The Alaskan taxpayer does not foot the bill for the charges levied, both legal fees or fines. She and her own family's income does.

WOULD YOU DO ANY LESS TO SAVE YOUR OWN FAMILY FROM RUIN, FINANCIAL OR OTHERWISE?

To answer your question of the current governor: IDK. Why don't you find out for us?

Sorry about that. I went back and re-read your initial post. I confused who you said was footing the bill. But, I believe she mentioned both her and the state were footing the bill in her resignation speech. I still am leery to believe that suing your political rivals to the point they resign was the political tactic being employed. I find it hard to believe that enough cases against her were making it to trial or even being investigated, to bankrupt a governor. If so, it sounds like the system is broken and quitting won't do a thing to remedy that.

She's a simpleton. Lots of flash, little true substance. A lot more intelligent candidates out there that could be an effective President from the GOP.

I laugh at all the sheep that follow her. Seems the right has just as many as the left.

    Who is your ideal candidate?

    Who is your ideal candidate?

    Your question says it all.

There is NEVER an ideal candidate. Our system can't work that way. Unless we can get 51% of the voters to agree on several of the major divisive issues, the eventual president will always represent a coalition. That's why if you are an absolutist on more than a couple of major issues, you'll never have the perfect candidate.

Most Republicans are too socially conservative for me. Most are also way too economically socialist for me. None are absolutist enough on the Bill of Rights for me. Yet, they beat any Democrat candidate. I don't like that there must be compromises with the social conservatives. Yet, I find them much more acceptable than the various far left socialist groups in the Democrat tent.

I could vote Libertarian (though I disagree with some vital areas with their platform) but if I do, I might as well be casting a vote for a Democrat.

George Bush is a great example. I liked his conduct of the war, I disliked almost everything else, though I thought the press and the left unfairly brutalized him worse than any President I've ever seen. Yet, he is light years ahead of our current President.

Palin, is okay with me. Intelligence and competence mean very little to me in a President. I mainly care if they share my values and will enforce them with their advisors. No President is ever as smart as the geniuses that work around him. The trick is to be the beacon of values guiding the geniuses from getting too far off their path. Could Palin do this? Maybe. Personally, I prefer Gingrich, but I can't think of a single person I'd like to see run who comes from the political arena. I wish we had a different choice than politicians. My favorite choice for the last election would be Condoleeza Rice, but I don't think she's interested. I'd vote for Clarence Thomas, or Scalia, but of course, I won't get that choice.

I'd also gladly vote for anyone who would check with me before all major decisions, but somehow I guess I won't get that either.

It's for many of the same reasons you just mentioned that I support Mike Huckabee It's his conservative social values. I'm still leery of the fair tax. He has the correct 2A stance for me. I also feel that he is a good communicator much the same way as Reagan not the narcisistic way of Obama. I think that Sarah Palin's Appeal would make a perfect compliment to his ticket as a VP. This would also serve her by giving her valuable experience for a future presidential run. I think her recent book, and some of her more recent speeches and interviews, have shown that she is not the moron that media tried to make her out to be.

Sarah Palin was supporting Rick Perry are you guys insane. Rick Perry is a neocon that brags about going to bilderberg meetings. Perry off to secret forum in Turkey | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News | Headline | International News He is a total puppet to the bankers. He completely supports the Trans-Texas corridor, Nafta, and the NAU. Is this what your for? Look who she supports, defends, and backs for crying out loud. She is Left/Right paradigm at its finest. Rush limbaugh is funny when using the word retard and Rahm emanuel should resign. Yes Rahm should resign for being a SOB but come on.

My mother wrote a book when I was younger. It was a full time job. It took her around 7 months to write and I never got to see her during that time. Writing a book is a full time job that takes dedication. Sure a well trained author can kick out a book faster, but do you really think that a women who was the VP canditate and has 5 children actually wrote that book. Please the same people that wrote Obamas books probably wrote Sarahs.

BOOK TOUR: Then she went on a book tour were her crew was forced to ride a bus around the country while she flew her private jet from place to place and was then picked up by the bus. Did you see that private jet it was royalty at its finest. I have never even been or seen a plane that fancy. Then she spent 63,000 dollars of tax payers money through the PAC fund to buy her own book.
Sarah Palin uses PAC funds to buy thousands of copies of her memoir "Going Rogue" - Short Stack
Her so called bought and paid for tea party speech that cost 550 dollars to attend and which she made 100,000 dollars for speeking at was nothing more than a Democrates are bad republicans are the answer speech. It was nothing more than a republican hijacking of the grassroots movement. She believes in perpetual wars and advocates going to a third war with Iran. Sarah Palin= really really bad news. Ron Paul 2012 or any other real constatutionalist.
Don't forget she supported the bailout, oh yes she appologized because that is the only way she can run in 2012

Oh wow...Sarah Palin isn't the champion state saving conservative she is said to be by so many? Sounds as if the people who support her are playing the same tune that that the libs who backed Obama played to get him elected. Unfortunately, all politiciancs have to play up a crowd and seem to sell their beliefs once they reach the level of success she has.

There is only one question to ask:

Will enough citizens vote for her over Øbama ? There must NOT be a 3d party in this election (Ross Perot even has the same initials as Ron Paul!) or else we'll lose the country for another four years. That will equate to forever. We'll be forced into "un-bury 'em boys, and go for Liberty. CAN be done. Pat

    Hello, DRoss.

Explain to me, "Most Republicans are too socially conservative ...". Specifically, "What does socially conservative mean to you?" Pat

Sarah Palin does not come across as a serious person. Therefore I cannot take her seriously. There are millions of people in this country that believe in the things she talks about in her speeches. Anyone can get on a stage a regurgitate the same talking points like she did. Does that mean we make them President of the United States?

Surest way to a 2nd Obama term is to nominate Palin.

She is still around, and much more free to attack her enemies than she was in office. In office, she would have used huge amounts of the state's money going after those people, and would have been limited legally and ethically by what she as governor could do and say.

    Exactly

On her worst PMS day she couldnt be worse than the joke we have now.

There is no such thing as the "perfect" candidate. Yes, Sarah Palin is not perfect. For that matter, neither was Thomas Jefferson, JFK, or Ronald Reagan. That's why the Founding Fathers collectively established our republic.

It's about the people that surround the POTUS, and I believe that Sarah Palin would surround herself with some great people, that understand the constitutional practices of this country, and wouldn't bow to special interest and lobbyists.

Mike Huckabee had the gastric bypass surgery, and to me, that just says he will opt for the easy road and refuse to make tough decisions or put in the hard work. Ron Paul is a financial genius, and that's where he should be placed.

I agree with Pat's post about a third party. The Republican party needs to be cleaned out from within, and breached by true libertarian/constitutionalist/conservative minded folks; as that's the platform of the party. Bill Clinton won both elections with less than 50% of the vote due to a third party candidate.

I'm not saying that she's the bar-none, hands down POTUS candidate, or even the best candidate, however, at this point, I'd say she's definitely leading the pack.

All of that, plus I firmly believe she would nominate judges that are dedicated to Constitutional principals, and that is more important than any four or eight year term of office.

Simple solutions to complex problems is often times the best approach.

I think your dead on here with this. Some common sense and K.I.S.S. is whats needed. I mean this whole spending your way to get out of debt deal thats going on now has no common sense. Personally Im getting out of debt and I didnt upgrade to a new F-250, I SOLD my mustang while cutting my spending.

I agree, its like a good business man may only know basics and have the funding but you find partners that have the values and qualities you belive in and put them in where it will make the total investment boom. Ron Paul I like alot about him but he isnt perfect either but when it comes to money the man is 2nd to none IMO.

You lose a few battles to win a war remember. I am still kinda sketchy on her leaving I will agree, but sometimes you need to retreat and come up with a new plan of attack. If her goal is to be POTUS or running mate I think she made the right call to get a jump start gettin out and about.

Id like to see a mix of people like. Palin, Paul, Beck, Hannity, Nugent, Trace Adkins, Marcus Lattrell.

I like how she writes topics on her hand. What an psycho crazy *****. I really hope she goes back to Alaska a failure. She has no credibility, she couldn't even remain governor of Alaska. She had to quit the easiest job to run around the country selling a ****ing book. What a waste.
