I believe that Merle is with the Governor. When the group meets up w/ the Governor, Merle is going to have a score to settle for leaving him on that roof to saw his hand off.

    A holler in Kentucky
I'm finally glad to see Rick step up and do something that makes sense. He should have killed that idiot when he first met him. I'm of two minds regarding Carl. He's either going to become a mega zombie killer or become a zombie with his stupid antics. Can't wait to next week.
Yeah, I figured they'd drag out the tension between Rick and the convict for at least another episode, but was pleasantly surprised.

I knew that puta was not long for this world. In the comic, it was the big black guy who tried taking a shot at Rick in the middle of zombie killing and Rick dropped him with a point blank Colt Python shot to the head that gave him plausible deniability. In the show, he just hauled off and cleaved the puta's head in twain.

And Carl did not do a smart thing in going off to fetch medical supplies. If he had the idea of finding and raiding the infirmary, he should have broached the idea and then the adults could decide how best to do it. Lori was 110% right in slapping him down verbally by referencing what happened to Hershel as being with the full group at full strength.

Gotta fact check you on this one. In the comic, the black guy never takes a shot a Rick. Just prior to them fighting the zombies, Rick accused him of murdering some other group members (not seen in the show). When everybody finds out that Rick was wrong, the black guy (who was in jail for murder-hence why he was accused; and "locked up" again by Rick) tells Rick that he and his group have to go.
During the battle with the walkers in the prison yard, Rick shoots the black guy in the head. Everyone thinks it was accidental but Rick did it purposefully.
It's a huge turning point in the books as it shows Rick will kill anyone to maintain the survival chances of his group; even killing innocents.

I like Daryl and the way his character has changed, and I hate to see Merle messing that up.

Interesting article on Big Hollywood about this season...I like what they say about Daryl...An interesting side note..My cousin works security at the Galt House in Louisville. There was a "Horror Film Fest" going on and my cousin got to escort "Daryl" from his room down to the fans. He said he was a really nice guy, a bit hung over, had nothing but kind words about Louisville, and likes expensive Scotch. My cousin said they were halfway to their destination when it him who he was escorting and my cousin said, "Ain't you a 'Boondock Saint'?"...He said "Yes sir and grinned." He said he came across as a really nice guy and was very polite and humble about his fame.

Yeah, I'm betting on this one too since they're probably looking for a way to incorporate the loss of Rick's hand from the comics into the show.
