Being a "battery guy", working in power sources my whole career, the answer is NO (on the flashlight batteries). Now, some of the lithium batteries publish 5-7 years shelf life, I can believe up to 4, so if they were using the kind of flashlights that use lithium batteries I'd be on board to a degree. However, obvious C and D cell alkaline size flashlights - no way.

I've had alkaline batteries that I got nearly free on a rebate/coupon deal sitting in our closet for over 2 years that were at full power when we opened and used them.

Definitely not the norm. They will last longer if you keep them in the freezer. Chemical reactions slow in cold. Zinc/Manganese Oxide reduction is pretty easy to slow around the freezing mark. Most alkaline batteries will start to leak before two years.

Anyone else wonder where all the .22s and shotguns are on this show? You rarely ever see one. I would think as many as are out there at least a few would be floating around. I guess they just aren't cool enough.

The group's been burned to many times for Rick to just say "Let's go guys!". And if they do end up somewhere 'safe' what happens to the show?
