Hear ya. I was in favor of the mountains - rough terrain as a stop to any "herds". Taking an island and defending it was also on the list, even the Florida Keys - one highway in/out - easy to defend from the undead. The right boat and know-how and excursions to/from Cuba for supplies or up the coasts. Key deer and a few other animals could be a renewable food source for a while.

But then, a moving band who constantly blunders into trouble makes for better television I guess.

Keep in mind that since everyone's infected, everyone who dies from injury or illness will turn, and if they are not "attended to", they will begin rampaging and turning more from within any pacified area. Just because you run a cruiseliner aground, or pacify a chain of islands connected by a causeway and then live in it does not mean you can live a comfy, zombie free existence while everyone else suffers. You'll always have zombie threats from within and without. You'll always have fellow human threats from within and without.

Thought the prison was perfect for that scenario. If everyone slept in confined areas - like the prison - that my help.

I've considered this as well. People would obviously be most vulnerable while they slept, so I would have everyone locked in their rooms, with the only way out, by key. If someone turned, they'd lack the memory or motor skills to use the key and escape their room.

They had this idea in place in the prison somewhat. They didn't go full bore on it until the flu pandemic though

I think we should start a pool on the number of times Daryl Dixon stabs a zombie in the head with his Busse Team Gemini (BWHS) in the mid-season opener, total for the second half of this season, and average BZHS per episode.
